Good hygiene is more than a routine—it is essential to health, confidence and dignity.
During a Personal and Menstrual Hygiene Management Session, participants learned practical ways to maintain personal hygiene, manage menstruation safely and confidently, and make informed choices that support their well-being.
By creating safe spaces for learning and conversation, we are helping children and young people build healthy habits, break the silence around menstruation, and grow with confidence and dignity.
Because every girl deserves to manage her period with dignity, safety and confidence.

Taking health information to where people live, work and gather is an important part of building healthier communities.

We were pleased to join partners in Maiduguri to mark World Contraception Day 2026, bringing practical information on contraception, healthy choices and access to reproductive health services directly to people in public spaces and markets.

We are pleased to be part of efforts to promote informed conversations around contraception and reproductive health in our communities.

At EYN Projects, we believe access to accurate health information and quality services empowers individuals and families to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

The Contraception Week 2026 engagement in Maiduguri provided an opportunity for health workers, young midwives, responders and partners to raise awareness, address misconceptions and encourage open conversations around reproductive health.

We remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen access to essential health services and promote healthier, informed communities.

Strengthening Impact Through Learning and Collaboration

A joint project review and documentation of learning was conducted for the IHA Maple and NHF-UNOCHA projects, implemented in partnership with Save the Children, Nigeria, with funding support from the United Nations OCHA NigeriaUnited Nations OCHA and the Government of Canada.

The review brought together project stakeholders and implementing partners, including GHIV Africa, to reflect on achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and opportunities for strengthening programme implementation and impact.

Through collaboration, shared learning, and evidence-based reflection, we continue to improve how humanitarian interventions respond to the needs of affected communities.

To turn contraceptive access into reproductive agency, women must be able to say yes, no, or not yet.

Today is World Contraception Day, and this year's focus is all about scaling up investment for greater contraceptive choice.

When we invest in family planning, we reduce preventable healthcare costs, save lives, and unlock choices for better futures.Everyone deserves the right to safely choose their own path.

From Nutrition Skills to New Possibilities

For Fatima Mohamed, a mother in Gangamari community, Borno State, learning to prepare Tom Brown has made a meaningful difference in her household.

Through EYN Projects In partnership with Save the Children, Nigeria with funds from United Nations OCHA Nigeria through Nigerian Humanitarian Funds ( ), Fatima’s child was enrolled in the Tom Brown intervention, where caregivers were also taught how to prepare the nutritious food using locally available ingredients such as soybeans, guinea corn, millet and groundnuts.

“There is a huge difference between my child before and now.”

Beyond preparing Tom Brown for her family, Fatima has also started selling it within her community at ₦200 per pack, creating an opportunity to make the food more accessible to other families.

“I advise my fellow women to hold on to the skills they have been taught, because this is prepared with our local crops.”

For Fatima, the intervention is not only about food it is about knowledge, confidence and possibilities for her family and community.

📍 Pulka, Borno State| Community Mapping for Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health

As part of efforts to improve access to Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) services, In partnership with Norwegian Church Aid Nigeria - NCA, engaged adolescents in a community mapping exercise to identify key health facilities, youth-friendly services, counselling and psychosocial support, protection services, referral pathways, and other essential community resources.

The exercise equipped adolescents with practical knowledge on where to go, who to approach, and how to access the support and services they need.

When young people know where to find support, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

📍 Biu & Konduga, Borno State

In Partnership with Christian Aid in Nigeria has commenced the Inception meetings for the Enhancing Agricultural Resilience (EAR) Project in Biu and Konduga, bringing together key stakeholders, community representatives, and partners to align on project objectives, implementation strategies, and expected outcomes.

The meetings provide an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, clarify roles, and ensure that the project responds effectively to the needs and priorities of the communities we serve.

Together, we are laying the foundation for meaningful, community-driven action and sustainable impact.

📍Pulka, Nigeria| Safe Water, Healthy Communities

In partnership with Norwegian Church Aid Nigeria - NCA, sensitized community members on maintaining a safe water chain from collection and transportation to storage and consumption.

We shared simple actions that protect families: keeping water containers clean and covered, washing hands with soap, using safe water sources, and using toilets instead of open defecation.

Safe water starts with all of us. Share the message, practise it, and encourage someone else to do the same.
