BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:13-20

13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

INTRODUCTION
According to the Advanced English Dictionary, fornication is voluntary s*xual in*******se between persons not married to each other or extramarital s*x that wilfully and maliciously interferes with marriage relations. However, in the New Testament, "fornication" which comes from the Greek word porneia, includes adultery and in**st, (and from which we get our English word po*******hy). Porneia comes from another Greek word that also includes indulging in any kind of unlawful lust, which would include homos*xuality. Fornication is a grievous sin that attracts severe judgement from God (Romans 1:29, 32). The Bible admonishes believers to "flee fornication" (1Corinthians 6:18).

OUTLINE -1: THE DANGER OF FORNICATION

The temptation to commit fornication may arise, but you don't have to fall for it (1Corinthians 10:12-13) because of the attendance consequences - spiritually, morally, mentally, and health wise (1 Corinthians 6:9, 18). The dangers of fornication include the following:

1. It is the easiest way to contract Sexually Transmitted Diseases and can cut a life short (untimely death). A good example is Amnon who was killed by Absalom two years after he fornicated with Tamar. (2 Samuel 13:28-32).

2. It brings guilt, regret, torment, and destroys destinies (Genesis 49:3-4).

3. It severs one's relationship with God (1Corinthians 10:8; Colossians 3:5-6).

4. God hates fornication because He designed the human body to be His temple where His Spirit will dwell and not for illegitimate s*x (1Corinthians 6:13b; Hebrews 13:4).

5. Fornicators will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9).

OUTLINE -2: ANTIDOTES TO FORNICATION

The primary antidote to the sin of fornication is to run away from it (1Corinthians 6:18). Running away here means not having anything to do with it either in thoughts or the act itself (Matthew 5:28). Joseph set a good example of fleeing from fornication in Genesis 39;7-13. In addition, we need to constantly purge our minds from immoral thoughts and fix our hearts on pure things (Philippians 4:8). Refuse to read or watch anything immoral - s*xually explicit/pornographic materials (Luke 11:34). Feed your mind on the word of God (Psalm 119:9). Take to your heels to avoid this destiny destroyer (1Corinthians 10:8). See a counsellor if need be and ask God to help you (Proverbs 11:14).

CONCLUSION
Fornication destroys destinies, flee!

BIBLE PASSAGE: JUDE 3-4

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

INTRODUCTION:
The English word apology comes from a Greek word that means "to give a defense." Christians apologetics, then, is the science of giving a defense of the Christian faith. Many sceptics doubt the existence of God if the Bible. Some critics attack the inspiration and in of the Bible (2Tim. 3:16) while false teachers promote false doctrines and deny and key truths of the Christian faith. The mission of Christian apologetics is to combat these movements and instead promote the Christian faith and truth.

TEACHING OBJECTIVES:
Through the lesson, students should be able to:
a. Know what apologetics means.
b. Explain with the Scripture why the Christian faith needs to be defended,
c. Understand how to go about the defence of our faith.

TEACHING PLAN:
To achieve the above-stated objectives, teachers should:
a. Allow the students to read the Bible passage, recite the memory verse, participate in the class activities and do the assignment.
b. Allow the Assistant teacher to conduct the class, mark attendance and assignment, grade performance and close the class session with the closing prayer.
c. Lead the opening prayer, review previous week’s lesson, teach the lesson outlines, summarise, conclude, evaluate the lesson and give assignment to the students.

TEXT REVIEW: JUDE 3-4.
In the above text, Jude exhorts his readers in every terms to be contenders for the faith. He wrote:
i. Beloved, when I gave all diligence ............ V3.
ii. For there are certain men crept in ................. V4.

OUTLINE -1: REASON AND BIBLICAL INSTANCES

A. There is no excuse for Christians to be completely unable to defend their faith (Jude 3-4).

i. Christians should know what they believe, why they believe it, how to share it with others, and how to defend it against lies and attacks (Col. 4:6).

ii. We are all commanded to be ready and equipped to proclaim the gospel and depend our faith (Matt. 28:18-20; 1Pet. 3:15).

iii. The only way to do this effectively is to study why we believe what we believe (2Tim. 2:15).

iv. This will prepare us to "demolish arguments and every pretension that set itself up against the knowledge of God, and take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ," as Paul said we should (2Cor. 10:5).

B. Jesus was his own apologetic:

i. He often stated that we should believe in Him because of the evidence he provided (Jn. 10:25; 10:38).

ii. In fact, the whole Bible is full of divine miracles that confirm what God wants us to believe (Exo. 4:1-8; 1Kgs. 18:36-39; Heb. 2:3-4; 2Cor. 12:12).

C. Paul practiced what he preached; in fact, depending the faith was his regular activity (Phill. 1:7).

i. He refers to apologetics as an aspect of his mission in the same passage (v.16).

ii. He also made being an apologetic a requirement for all believers (Titus 1:9).

D. Jude, an apostle of Jesus, wrote, "Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." (Jude 3).

Apart from the above reasons, why do you think a Christian should defend his/her faith in this end time?

OUTLINE -2: WITH GENTLENESS AND RESPECT

i. Defending the Christian faith as apologetics should never involve being rude, angry, or disrespectful (2Tim. 2:24).

ii. While practicing Christian apologetics, we should strive to be strong in our defense and at the same time Christ-like in our presentation (Matt. 10:16; 1Thess. 2:7).

iii. If we win a debate but turn a person even further away from Christ by out attitude, we have lost the true purpose of Christian apologetics (2Cor. 6:3).

CONCLUSION
We are commanded to use apologetics in as many or more places as we are told to preach the gospel.

PRAYER FOR GREAT AND FRUITFUL DREAMS THIS YEAR
BIBLE TEXT(S): Gen 37:8, 41:1-8, Mat 13:25

INTRODUCTION
Dream is one of the ways through which God communicates with us. However, it is important to note that Satan also manipulate dreams and can also afflict through it. Therefore, everyone should pray against evil dreams and cancel them using Gods word and declare that it shall not stand neither shall it come to pass.

LET US PRAY
1. Father we thank you for exposing the kingdom of darkness to us through dreams in Jesus name. Ps.75:1.
2. Father we thank you for directing us through dreams to frustrate the plan of enemy in Jesus name. Ps. 105:1.
3. Father show me in dream the secret of continuous success in my life, in Jesus name. Dan.2:22, Deut.29:29.
4. Father frustrate any form of dream manipulation in my life, in Jesus name. Lam.3:37.
5. Father any evil dream in my life will never manifest, in Jesus name. Isa.7:7.
6. Father I frustrate any attack in the dream by the blood of Jesus, in Jesus name. Rev.12:11.
7. Father help me to bring my godly dreams to reality, in Jesus name. Jn. 14:13-14.
8. Father any power that feed me in the dream to poison me shall be destroyed, in Jesus name. Mk.16:18.
9. Father, any arrow of affliction and forgetting dreams fired into my life in the dream is paralyzed and set ablaze in Jesus name. Heb.12:29.
10. Father, any dream of death or backwardness is destroyed in Jesus name. Hos.13:14
11. Father deliver me from negative dream that cause me pain and weeping in Jesus name. Joel. 2:32.
12. Holy spirit empowers us with the gift of interpretation of dream in Jesus name. Gen. 40:8,12.
13. Lord I decree that I will not die before the fulfillment and enthrone of my dream in Jesus name. Gen. 41:41-44.
14. Father, as your wind blows, reveal to me the dream of my greatness and give me the grace to be standing in you until the manifestation in Jesus name. Gen.37:5-11, Gen. 41:41-44, Gen. 50:18-20.
15. Father, as your wind is blowing, please give me the grace to understand all visions and dreams in Jesus name. Dan.1:17.
