We just unboxed the itel City 200 and here is what you need to know

For a budget phone this one comes with a lot. You get a 6.78 inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 700 nits brightness, that screen is genuinely impressive at this price point ( #135000- #155000).

The 50MP rear camera surprised us and the 5200mAh battery with 18W fast charging means you are not going to be running to a power bank every few hours.

The phone runs Android 15, comes with 6GB RAM and up to 256GB storage, and is IP65 rated, so water and dust resistant.

It is also MIL-STD-810H certified which means it passed military grade drop tests. A 7.45mm slim body at this price is not something you see every day.

It comes in four colors; Bass Black, Echo Silver, Vibe Purple and Melody Pink.

For what it costs this phone delivers more than most people expect.

Watch the unboxing and tell us in the comments if this is worth it for the price.

WhatsApp just dropped 6 new features and your chats are about to feel very different.
Here is everything that just changed.

1. You can now delete large files inside a chat without wiping the entire conversation. Just tap the chat name, go to Manage Storage and clear what you do not need while keeping your messages intact.

2. Moving from iPhone to Android just got easier. WhatsApp now lets you transfer your full chat history including photos and videos from iOS to Android in just a few taps. No cables. No third party apps.

3. iPhone users can finally run two WhatsApp accounts at the same time. Work and personal. One phone. No more switching or carrying two devices. Android has had this for a while, iOS finally caught up.

4. WhatsApp now suggests stickers as you type emojis. One tap and you can swap an emoji for a sticker that matches exactly what you are feeling.

5. Meta AI can now touch up your photos before you send them. Remove something in the background, swap the backdrop or apply a style, all inside the chat before hitting send.

6. And AI Writing Help can now read your conversation and draft a suggested reply for you. Your chats stay private. It just helps you find the right words faster.

On March 12, African Women in Technology hosted the Nigeria edition of their IWD 2026 Global Series in Lagos and the conversations did not hold back.

The theme was Give to Gain: Balancing the Scale, convening brought together some of the most important voices in African tech, fintech, media and venture capital, and the conversations were exactly what the ecosystem needed to hear.

, Founder of AWIT, set the tone from the jump. The point was clear, recognising women is not enough. The goal is influence. Ownership. Decision making power.

, Olufunmi Olaosun and Zusi Inegbeniki opened the panel conversations with a deep look at where women actually stand in AI, data governance and emerging tech leadership.

Oluwatosin Olaseinde broke down how digital financial systems are expanding economic access for women. Florence Chikezie talked about building businesses that are both scalable and purposeful.

Then , Adaudo Anyiam-Osigwe and Patricia Uyeh brought it to something a lot of people overlook, how storytelling shapes funding, perception and how Africa’s innovation is seen globally. Toluwanimi Onakoya pushed that conversation even further.

The closing session with , and Sara Pinheiro got into the systems, how women actually break into leadership, access capital and hold institutional power.

TechCity was proud to be the media partner for this event. These are the conversations that move the needle.

OpenAI just made a deal with the US military. And Ed people deleted ChatGPT because of it.

Here is the full story.
The US government went to two AI companies that’s OpenAI, who make ChatGPT, and Anthropic, who make Claude. They wanted both of them to let the military use their AI. We are talking weapons, surveillance, war stuff.

Anthropic said no. Full stop. They refused the deal and the government called them a threat because of it.
OpenAI said yes. The same day. Sam Altman had literally been supporting Anthropic’s decision in the morning and signed the deal by evening.

When people found out, they were angry.
In one day, 300,000 people deleted ChatGPT. Bad reviews on the app shot up by 775%. A Reddit post /saying delete ChatGPT got 30,000 upvotes. Over a million people said they were switching to Claude.
Claude went to number one on the App Store overnight.

But it gets more interesting. Trump then banned the government from using Claude, called them a left wing company and tried to force them to change their mind. Anthropic still said no. Their downloads kept climbing anyway.

Now the question for you is simple. Does it matter to you which company built the AI on your phone? And does it matter what that company does with it behind the scenes?

Google Maps just got its biggest upgrade in over a decade and Gemini AI is behind all of it.

Two things changed. The first is Ask Maps, so instead of typing keywords and scrolling through results, you can now have a full conversation with your maps app. Ask it where to charge your phone without waiting in a long queue, or ask it to plan a full road trip with hidden stops and insider tips from real people. It builds the whole thing for you.

The second is Immersive Navigation, your map now shows a vivid 3D view of the actual buildings, lanes, traffic lights, and terrain around you in real time. It even speaks to you like a person. “Go past this exit and take the next one” and not robotic directions anymore, actual guidance.

And underneath all of this, Google Maps is processing over 5 million traffic updates every single second and now all of that intelligence is finally talking back to you.

Swipe through for the full breakdown.
