Surprise No. 3
This gentleman had called me in the morning to wish me happy birthday, told me how his weekend went, we chatted a bit about this and that etc. And that was all.
I assumed he was in Abuja where he lives (mostly) and works.
Lo and behold, as my Old girls' visit was winding down, the handsome dude strolled into my shop. Oh I was surprised and delighted all at once. My heart was full.
This gentleman was born exactly 5 years and 2 weeks after me.
(My parents needed to recover from bringing me into the world, lol!) It took them 5 years 2 weeks to do that.
Thank you Oluwole for making a beautiful day even more beautiful!!!

My day of surprises!!!
The first surprise.
My girl came to my room in the morning and said that I had some visitors. I said what visitors? I am not expecting any one. I said what kind of people are they? Are they like me? ( I don't know what that really means. I sha said it!)
She said no. They are like Ms. Joy. Ms Joy is Pamilerin's teacher.
Ehen? Okay go and ask them for their names, I said.
She looked me in the eye and said, Mummy go downstairs!
Hmm okay. I went downstairs and saw no visitors, but I saw a familiar pair of shoes peeping out from a corner!
These amazing ladies that I work with had come to my house to do Paranra for me, lol.
As if they knew, I didn't even order any cake because they actually blessed me with one.
It was such a lovely surprise!
I counted 1.2.3.4. So who is in the shop?
Nobody they said and ran back to the shop!
Thank you Esther, Kehinde Folake and Taiwo. God bless and reward you all real good!
And our faithful Gbenro who was there too but isn't in these pictures!
Pictures were taken in our showroom when I finally got dressed.
Happy Fathers Day to all the Amazing Fathers Leading from the Front!

My made in Nigeria story
Part 1
I am passionate about Nigeria and I believe truly in my Nation.
I am 100% Nigerian and on a mission to ensure that everything I use personally is made in Nigeria. I know some things are still a bit far-fetched but here is my current list.
1. Face soap, Serum and toner are from Isheda produced by Yinka Johnson
2. Face oil is from Idorenyin Eme Ugwuegbu Sahara Sunrise
Since I started using their products, I don't need to use a foundation for my face because my skin is clear. Just powder and I am good to go.
3. My Sunscreen is from a lady who had triplets with bad skin condition and ended up formulating a skin care line to solve the problem. I will add the brand name in a future edit of the post.
4. General body, Vaseline Petroleum Jelly. I have been using it for decades. Along with Pure Shea Butter if I have to remove blemishes or I am dealing with an allergic rash etc.
5. Clothes are usually Adire or Ankara all locally sewn or bought.
6. Shoes and bags you know that is all Nigerian ofcourse, Mona Matthews.
7. Chickens- I buy fresh from Ope Farms by Olusola Sowemimo or Excel Farms by Anthony Omokhodion. These are organically grown chickens too. Not the imported ones stuffed with steroids.
8. For food generally, I eat Nigerian locally grown food. My rice is Nigerian from our dear Iya Oniresi, Olubunmi Iyabo Akinkugbe and my beans too. As a matter of fact, her beans do not have weevils. And once I buy, I store it in my freezer. Raw beans oh, not cooked!
I don't buy any canned food at all even my sweetcorn is fresh from the farm.
I am in the process of formulating my own salad dressing too.
Watch this space.
I drink water mostly or tigernut milk which I buy or make myself.
9. My hair products and wigs are made in Nigeria too.
10. My deodorant is also made in Nigeria by a lady who runs a Spa in Ikeja. I will add her brand name. Its made from natural ingredients and its safe for children and adults. It's also very cost effective.
My point with this rather long post is that we have to be extremely intentional about saving our Nation. Many people are producing great products already. We need good people like you out there to help push this narrative and let others know about them and go ye a nd do likewise too.
PS.
If you want a plug for good wigs, dressmakers, body care items and more, send me a dm.
Yes please share!
