YOUR GOD VS YOUR BOSS

A question for every leader, worker, minister, and servant of God:

Who do you offer your best?

God or your boss?

It is easy to say, “I am committed to the work of God,” but commitment is revealed by what we consistently prioritize.

You can wake up early to get to work on time, but repeatedly arrive late to church.

You can make yourself available whenever your employer calls, but become unavailable whenever there is a need in the house of God.

You can protect your job because you understand that your salary pays your bills, yet treat the work of God as though it can always wait.

But have you considered what you are trading?

Sometimes, we become more passionate about serving people because there is an immediate reward attached to it.

A salary, promotion or Recognition.

And perhaps, because the rewards of serving God are not always immediate in some ways, we begin to value temporary gains above eternal inheritance.

But God sees your labour.

He sees every sacrifice no one applauded.
He sees every time you showed up when you were tired.
He sees every assignment you carried out.
He sees every time you chose His house, His people, and His purpose.

Your boss may sign your paycheck, but God is the One who ultimately rewards your labour.

“For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love…” Hebrews 6:10

Don’t forget that!

This is not a call to neglect your workplace. Work with excellence. Honour your employer. Be diligent.

But never become so committed to building someone else’s organization that you neglect the assignment God entrusted to you.

Your job is important. But your calling is eternal.

Your boss can reward your performance.

God rewards your faithfulness.

So ask yourself today:

Have I given God my best?

There is nothing wrong with working for people.

But never let your desire to work for people become greater than your desire to serve God.

God will reward you.

Serve Him faithfully.
Serve His house wholeheartedly.
Serve His people diligently.
Serve in your local church.
Give your best.

Because whatever you do for God is never wasted.

No work of ministry or labour unto the Lord goes unrewarded.

Sometimes, the reward transcends generations.

You can leave an inheritance for your children’s children by the magnitude of your Labors unto the Lord.

Be instructed.
