Be prepared to accept your looming defeat, Atiku tells Tinubu

The Atiku/Okowa Campaign Organization has advised the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign to stop lamenting and brace up to accept their fate because their defeat at the polls
was imminent.

Atiku urges the duo to “hold back” their tears pending the official announcement of the outcome of the February 25, 2023 Presidential election by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This was contained in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation, Kola Ologbondiyan, in Abuja, on Sunday.

He said, “It is pathetic that after failing to blackmail and compromise INEC and after failing to cause crisis to scuttle the election; the Tinubu Campaign has resorted to posting fabrications and labyrinth of lies against the Atiku/Okowa campaign as published on the front page of a newspaper believed to be owned by its Presidential Candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“Such wretched shenanigan and fixation on the PDP by the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign only exposes Tinubu’s nerviness in conviction of looming defeat by the Presidential Candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

“Apparently rattled by their feared damaging verdict of the ballot box against its Candidate, the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign is now desperate to create confusion by publishing and circulating fake election results; a pathetic ploy that will fail to fly in the face of real results coming from polling units across the country.

A new Nigeria is possible on 25th February 2023 – Peter Obi

1. Fellow Nigerians, on 27th May 2022, I took a most important decision in my life to join great and patriotic Nigerians in Labour Party to rescue our dear country Nigeria from litany of leadership and governance failures. I was later, most graciously elected as the Presidential Candidate to lead the crusade for a New Nigeria! I sincerely thank the members and leadership of Labour Party and other committed Nigerians like Professor Pat Utomi that made it possible. On deep reflection, I am eternally grateful to God for the decision to join Labour Party and to offer myself to serve and lead a New Nigeria!

2. As we campaigned across states, cities, towns and villages of our dear Nation, my heart was filled with great concern but alsowith joy and hope. We experienced genuine love and we felt overwhelmed by abundant and immeasurable blessings of God, on every part of our beloved country Nigeria. We felt the unparalleled zeal and energy for survival and the desire for a productive economy across the 36 states of Nigeria. I was equally very sad and most concerned! Sad as the above opportunities are being lost principally due to bad leadership and governance in a country of immense potential.

3. We saw real and multi-dimensional poverty, undeserving unemployment and living conditions; decaying and unavailable basic infrastructure; avoidable crises, accidents, deaths and unchecked insecurity and criminality. Even with the lamentable state of our people, society and economy, we are most encouraged by the love, unity, patriotism, energy and productivity embedded in all parts of Nigeria waiting to be properly harnessed to create a secure, united and productive New Nigeria!

Nollywood actor, Alexx Ekubo has said Peter Obi’s victory in next Saturday’s presidential election will do for Nigerian and Africa at large what former United States President, Barrack Obama’s victory did for the black race in America.
Recall that the actor had recently lamented that many have fallen out with their family and friends.
He advised Nigerians to avoid enmity with their family, friends, and acquaintances due to divergent political ideas.

He wrote, “People are losing friends & family over political ideologies.

“Just remember that whenever you are in need & want support, you will need friends/family & not government.”

“With the elections barely 48 hours away, many citizens have taken to the internet to express their opinions, continue to canvass for their preferred candidates, and even try to discredit other candidates.”

The actor, made this known on his Twitter page on Wednesday, stating that if Obi were to win, Nigerians would enjoy the same freedom that black Americans did under Obama’s presidency.

He wrote, “Peter Obi winning the Nigerian Presidency would do for Africa, what Barrack Obama’s emergence as President of the U.S.A did for the entire Black Race.”

87.2m PVCs collected as Nigerians go to polls tomorrow

After weeks of preparation, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has cleared 87,209,007 voters out of the 93.5 million it registered to vote in tomorrow’s Presidential and National Assembly election and the March 11 governorship and state Assembly polls.

The 87.2 million voters were the number of people who collected their Permanent Voters Cards, PVCs, as of February 5 when the deadline to collect the cards ended.

The electoral umpire insisted yesterday that no one would be allowed to vote without PVC.
