If you were unable to sit for your scheduled JAMB examination due to fingerprint or biometric (thumbing) issues, please kindly reprint your examination slip.

JAMB has made provisions to reschedule the examination for affected candidates.

🔥 OPTIONS TO REALISE YOUR DREAM COURSE DESPITE A LOW JAMB SCORE 🔥

Many candidates have been asking if they can still gain admission into their preferred course despite scoring below the departmental cut-off mark. The answer is YES, but only through legitimate alternatives.

📌 There are three major options available:

🔥 1. PRE-DEGREE PROGRAMME

Register for the Pre-Degree Programme and perform excellently in the examination.

The formula used is:

(JAMB Score + Pre-Degree Score) ÷ 2 = Aggregate Score

If your aggregate score meets or exceeds the departmental cut-off mark of your desired course, you stand a chance of being admitted into that course in the current admission session.

🔥 2. CHANGE OF COURSE AND LATER TRANSFER

You can change to a course whose cut-off mark you currently meet, gain admission, and begin studies in 100 Level.

After your first year, you may apply for an inter-departmental transfer to your dream course.

⚠️ This option requires excellent academic performance, usually measured through your CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average).

🔥 3. JUPEB OR IJMB PROGRAMME

This is a one-year advanced programme that allows candidates to gain admission through Direct Entry.

Benefits include:

✅ No need to rewrite JAMB. ✅ Opportunity to gain admission into your preferred course. ✅ Successful candidates may start from 200 Level. ✅ Reduces the stress and uncertainty of repeated UTME attempts.

With a good JUPEB or IJMB result, admission into your desired course becomes much easier through Direct Entry.

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE

Apart from the options listed above, there is no legitimate way to gain admission into a course whose cut-off mark is higher than your JAMB score.

Neither money, connection, nor influence can change the fact that JAMB will not approve admission into a course for which a candidate does not meet the minimum departmental cut-off mark.

Even if your score is just one mark below the required cut-off, admission into that course cannot be approved through the regular admission process.

📌 WHY DO PEOPLE STILL SEEK ADMISSION ASSISTANCE?

Meeting the cut-off mark only makes you eligible to compete.

For example:

• Over 2,000 candidates may apply for a department. • The department may only have space for 100 students.

Therefore, scoring the cut-off mark does not automatically guarantee admission because competition still exists.

The honest answer is that admission is never 100% predictable.

If your score meets the departmental cut-off mark, apply and wait for the admission process.

If you are an aspirant of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) this year, take note of these important things:

1. OAU does not accept COMMERCE as a subject for admission into many courses, especially in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Administration. If you wrote Commerce, make sure your other subjects meet the departmental requirements.

2. OAU does not accept NABTEB results for admission. The university accepts WAEC, NECO, or a combination of both, so ensure your O'level results meet this requirement.

3. If you want to study International Relations in OAU, you must write Mathematics in UTME. Many students overlook this and later discover they are not eligible during admission screening.

4. OAU does not accept awaiting result for Post-UTME screening. Your O’level results must be ready before the screening registration closes.

5. Upload your O’level result on the JAMB CAPS portal. Failure to upload your result can stop JAMB from offering you admission even if you meet the cutoff mark.

6. Choose the correct subject combination in UTME. A wrong subject combination can automatically disqualify you from admission.

7. Score high in UTME. OAU is highly competitive, so a score above 230–250 gives you a better chance depending on your course.

8. Make OAU your first choice. The university does not consider candidates who choose it as second choice.

FG APPROVES STRICT GUIDELINES ON HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREES TO RESTORE CREDIBILITY OF NIGERIAN UNIVERSITIES

The Federal Government has approved comprehensive Guidelines for the Award and Use of Honorary Doctorate Degrees in Nigeria as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic integrity, promote transparency, and safeguard the credibility and international reputation of the Nigerian University System.

The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, disclosed this in official communications addressed to Vice-Chancellors and Pro-Chancellors of universities across the country. The Guidelines were developed by the National Universities Commission (NUC) and approved by the Federal Ministry of Education following the endorsement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

According to the Minister, the policy became necessary in response to growing concerns over the abuse, commercialization, and misuse of honorary doctorate awards, which have increasingly undermined the prestige and value of academic honours in Nigeria. The new framework establishes clear standards for the nomination, approval, conferment, use, and revocation of honorary doctorate degrees across all Nigerian universities.

The approved Guidelines are hereby attached below for the information and compliance of all universities, stakeholders, and members of the public.
