Our Medical Director and Principal Optometrist Dr Kelechi Nwagwu was elevated to the status of Fellow Of The Nigerian Optometric Association - FNOA on the 26th of July at the Dinner/Award Night of the NOA in Umuahia Abia State. The award was presented to him by the First Lady of Abia State - Dr Mrs Priscilla Ifeoma Otti. To God be the glory 🙏🏾

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month—a crucial time to shed light on the impact of diabetes on vision health. 👁️

Diabetic eye disease, including conditions like diabetic retinopathy, is a leading cause of vision loss in adults. Early detection through regular eye exams can make all the difference.

Robert and his dad thought it would be another routine appointment for him, until an eye exam revealed the shocking truth behind his symptoms. He was diagnosed with three malignant germinoma brain tumors, or brain cancer. With a diagnosis uncovered and an optometrist by his side, Robert could finally get the care he needed.​

As part of our An optometrist saved my life series, we have spoken to patient Hugo Fairbanks Weston, and optometrist and practice owner, Adrian Kite. Hugo presented to Kite Opticians with migraines and visual disturbances. His appointment led to a brain tumour diagnosis.

Reflecting on the importance of sight tests, Hugo told OT: “I definitely think sight tests are much more essential than I did before.”
