CCAPI: COMMEMORATING THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2026
CCAPI joined the rest of the world to celebrate this year's IWD by inviting heads of women led community based organisations for a round table discussion at CCAPI's office in Calabar.
In line with the theme "Give to Gain", the round table forum which was moderated by the Executive Director of CCAPI, Dr. Mrs Evelyn Oti -Ebeh Mene, focused on impactful and supportive leadership which facilitates the growth of other women in society. Participants also emphasized the need for women to develop themselves in order to be in a better position to help other women.

CCAPI ANNUAL TRAINING 2026

Child Care and Adults Protection Initiative - CCAPI, held its 2026 Annual Training on Friday 30th of January 2026 at CCAPI's office in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. The yearly training serves as an avenue to induct new staff members and volunteers into the organisation and also enhance the capacities of existing staff.
Hycent, in his presentation discussed the usefulness of AI in the current global society, especially for work and daily living. He stressed the fact that AI is useful to everyone including market women and small traders, noting that AI has been specialised and adapted for:
1. Market women and small traders
2. Professional women
3. Women in farming and Agribusinesses
4. Home and family life, and
5. Health awareness.
He however, warned of the danger of over-reliance on Artificial Intelligence, noting that it weakens independent thinking abilities, among other things.

CCAPI: Marking the 16 Days of Activism in Calabar, Cross River State
Child Care and Adult Protection Initiative (CCAPI), on Wednesday 3rd December 2025, hosted Community Based Organisations, community women stakeholders and beneficiaries at its office in Calabar to mark this year's 16 Days of Activism. The theme of this year is "Unite to End Digital Violence against Women and Girls".
The event featured a talk delivered by the Executive Director of CCAPI, Mrs. Evelyn Oti - Ebeh Mene, where she admonished participants to protect their homes, especially women and girls from Tech facilitated gender Based violence.
Some participants who were beneficiaries of CCAPI on the ActionAid Nigeria's Women's Voices and Leadership Nigeria Project (WVL), used the opportunity to showcase their products produced from the skills they acquired during the phase 1 of the WVL project.

PROMOTING SCHOOL HEALTH: CATCH THEM YOUNG
CCAPI's School Nutrition and Wellness Intervention Program is a tailored activity aimed at promoting healthy food practices and advocating for the enforcement of nutrition-related policies across public schools in Calabar and Cross River State at large. The event which took place at Government Girls Secondary school Big Qua, Calabar, also had participants from the Special Education Secondary School Calabar as well as representatives of MDAs, including the Ministry of Education, Cross River State.
The intervention directly engages secondary school students, school administrators, food vendors, teachers, and policy actors to raise awareness on the benefits of healthy diets and the dangers of consuming processed, high-sugar food consumption among children.
The event featured child friendly learning activities like debate, drama, and health talks. The organisers brought health personnel to provide free health screening such as sugar test, BP, test and counselling support.

CCAPI: CELEBRATING THE INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2025
CCAPI hosted an Online Conference to mark the IWD on the 18th of March 2025. The Conference featured three guest speakers who discussed some key topics bordering on women and vulnerabilities. Siva for instance, spoke on the topic "Addressing the Psychological Impact of Violence against Women: Strategies for Global Mental Health Support and Empowerment". Hycent Amool and Vintimilla Cordoba in their presentations also respectively shared insights on the importance of promoting the Food Aid System to reduce vulnerability among women, as well as on dependency and vulnerability among women (topics paraphrased).
These presentations were quite insightful and an eye opener to some participants in the conference. The Executive Director of Child Care and Adult Protection Initiative (CCAPI), Mrs. Evelyn Oti-Ebemene in her closing remarks sincerely appreciated the guest speakers for availing themselves and expressed her desire to continue to collaborate with them.

CCAPI ANNUAL TRAINING held today March 11, 2025
Facilitators: Michael Okori and Mary Owan
The training featured participants from CCAPI and other organisations. Annual trainings which are conducted at the beginning of every new year have become a customary practice in CCAPI.
The organisation in its wisdom designed annual trainings as a medium to induct new staff members and equip them with necessary knowledge about the organisation. It is also a refresher for existing staff, meant to update their knowledge and equip them with additional skills to enable them function efficiently in their various job roles.
