Dear Altar Server,
You are in a world where serving God looks like a burden and a waste of time,where teenagers/young youths no longer yearn to serve God again.
This is were you come in those early morning running from your house to the church just to serve at the Altar and diligently carrying out your duty with reverence and holiness is what ignites the fire in other people to serve God,the way you swing the Thurible,carry the Candle stand, carry the Crucifix with stillness and fold your palms on the Altar and move in confidence and respect to God,the way you carry the Chalice and Ciborium used for consecration of the Body and Blood of Christ which the people long to see and touch but they do not have that privilege.
All the things you do at the Altar is seen by People,just a reminder that you can attract either a curse or a blessing while serving at Mass,what I mean is that many people come to Church with many burdens and problems in their heart.
Please don't be the reason why that person will go home worse than he came.
For instance moving sheepishly on the sanctuary, talking and doing things that will distract you and the people of God.
Serve with reverence and fear,when you serve at the Altar imagine that you are serving God himself,now ask yourself this question if it was God how will I move, sit, kneel,stand,dance and so on.
One of the laws of heaven is ORDERLINESS,God is a God of order and discipline,so be at the right place at the right time and do what is obtainable and recommendable.
Final advice: Be a blessing to someone,be the reason why someone will want to serve God and your reward will be given unto you.

TALES OF AN ALTAR SERVER PT1
dear Altar Server,
Little angels on earth, ministers of the Altar, helpers of the priest.
Your obligation to the Church is more than wearing a Cassock,it is more than wearing a surplice and walking on the Sanctuary assisting the priest so that the Holy Mass will be Solemn and Profound.
As an ALTAR SERVER you are called to a life of PRAYER,HOLINESS, OBEDIENCE, CONSECRATION AND CHARACTER.
Some call us Little Priest,you climb the sanctuary that many fear to climb,touch the sacred vessels and linens that many fear to touch.
Your lifestyle should reflect Christ who you represent because many people are watching and looking at you as a Role model to their Children, don't just be saintly at the Altar alone but also at your Home,School, Society and anywhere you go,your life should be a light that others will look at when they are in darkness.
You took a vow of SERVICE, LEARNING, OBEDIENCE AND DEDICATION,not to the people or priest but to God Almighty who you will serve through his people and who you will give account of your stewardship after your sojourn on Earth.
The bible says in John 10:10 that the ENEMY goes around looking for who to steal,kill and destroy.
Immediately you took that vow of SERVICE to God,he(Satan) becomes interested in you.
He starts looking for ways possible to destroy you,that is why it is advised submit yourself to God in prayer because he alone can save.
Advice:NEARER TO THE ALTAR, NEARER TO GOD.
This one of our motto, the more you learn to draw near to God everything will align.
Continue been that Good and obedient ALTAR SERVER not to people but to God for if you obey God you will not find it hard to obey people
