NIGERIA POLICE RECRUITMENT 2025
ATTENTION: Police Recruitment: Written Examination (April 28–30)
The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has fixed 28-30 April 2026 for the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment as Police Constables (for both General Duty and Specialist applicants). The exercise will take place at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
Only candidates who successfully passed the physical and credentials screening are eligible. Qualified applicants are advised to print their Examination Invitation Card, which indicates the specific date, time and venue of their test.
Required items on exam day:
1. A pen
2. National Identification Number (NIN) Slip from NIMC (with clear photograph)
3. Printed Examination Invitation Card
4. Application Submission Form
Dress Code: White shorts, white T‑shirt and white canvas.
The Police Service Commission reiterates that the recruitment process is entirely free and warns that any form of job racketeering, scams, or financial inducement will be met with the full force of the law.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released official figures from its ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise, revealing that 793,858 applicants were disqualified at various stages of the process.
According to the data, a total of 1,120,491 applications were fully completed and processed for the examination stage, while 432,935 applications were marked incomplete. An additional 360,923 applicants were disqualified during the initial screening phase.
The recruitment exercise, which covers the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and Nigeria Correctional Service, reportedly attracted over 1.8 million applications across the country.
The board also released performance statistics from the computer-based test (CBT), showing varying levels of candidate performance. It stated that 221,996 candidates scored between 0 and 40, while 229,155 scored between 41 and 60.
A total of 278,543 candidates scored between 61 and 80, representing the largest group, while 142,697 candidates achieved scores between 81 and 100, making up the top-performing category.
CDCFIB said the next phase of the recruitment process will involve physical screening and document verification. Shortlisted candidates are expected to receive official notifications detailing venues, dates, and required documents.
The board reiterated that the recruitment exercise is free of charge and warned applicants against falling for fraudulent messages or unofficial updates, urging them to rely only on verified communication channels.
The development comes amid concerns from applicants over intermittent access to the recruitment portal and delays in communication during earlier stages of the exercise.

POLICE RECRUITMENT 2025
The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, has announced the recruitment of 50,000 police constables, as approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This move follows the President’s declaration of a nationwide security emergency on November 26, 2025, aimed at boosting community policing, strengthening internal security, and increasing manpower.
According to a statement by Torty Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, the recruitment portal will be open from December 15, 2025 to January 25, 2026.
Eligibility Requirements:
* General Duty applicants must have:
GCE O’Level, SSCE/NECO, or equivalent
At least 5 credits including English and Mathematics in no more than two sittings
Age: 18–25 years
Height: 1.67m (male), 1.64m (female)
* Specialist cadre applicants must have:
Minimum of 4 credits, including English and Mathematics
Relevant trade test certifications and at least 3 years of experience
Age: 18–28 years
All applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, and applications must be submitted online.
