As part of the Renewed Women’s Voice and Leadership (RWVL-Nigeria) Project, supported by ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) and Canada’s International Development – Global Affairs Canada (GAC), Technology Beyond Disability Initiative is taking this hands-on learning experience to Aba.

September is a reminder that it's not too late to make meaningful progress, pursue bold ideas, and create lasting impact. The last lap of the year is not just about finishing strong; it's about staying intentional with every opportunity ahead.

But September is more than just another month on the calendar.

It is Deaf Awareness Month — a time to celebrate Deaf people, amplify Deaf voices, challenge barriers, and reaffirm that inclusion means creating a world where everyone can participate, communicate, learn, lead, and thrive.

At Technology Beyond Disability Initiative, we remain committed to building an inclusive world where technology empowers, accessibility opens doors, and innovation creates opportunities for everyone.

We thought we were gathering to celebrate the end of another Technovation season... but we had no idea history was about to be made. 💙✨

As we joined the Celebration Event, we watched with excitement, reflecting on an incredible season of learning, innovation, and growth.

Then came the announcement...

"Africa – STRIM Girls | Saving Pad | Nigeria." 🇳🇬🌍

Cheers. Smiles. Happy tears.

Our Senior Division Deaf team, STRIM Girls, had been named African Regional Finalists at the Technovation Girls Global Competition!

Watching these brilliant girls receive global recognition for their innovative AI-powered project, Saving Pad, was a moment we'll never forget. It was a powerful reminder that talent knows no barriers and that, with the right opportunities, every young person can create solutions that make a difference.

Next stop: The Technovation World Summit in India! 🇮🇳✈️
