Building on the momentum of the initial surgeries, the medical outreach in Yola concluded its mission with incredible results. The final count reveals the full scope of the team’s impact:
A total of 1357 patients were screened, a testament to the overwhelming need and the community’s trust in the outreach. Out of this group, 80 cataract surgeries were successfully performed, restoring clear vision to people who had been living in a blurred world. The surgical team also carried out five pterygium operations and one chalazion surgery, addressing a wider range of debilitating eye conditions.
Beyond the operating table, the outreach provided additional support to patients. A staggering 957 individuals received free prescribed glasses and medication, ensuring that patients left with the tools to improve their sight and health.
This final tally tells a story of hope being restored one person at a time.
A big thank you to the Doctors, nurses and volunteers for your part in this mission. Your tireless dedication made all the difference.

In the heart of Yola, a remarkable story of restored sight and renewed hope unfolded. Led by our team in collaboration with .ng and Adamawa state Ministry of Health, a medical outreach being carried out is currently transforming the lives of people who had been living in the shadows of vision impairment.
Doctors and volunteers worked tirelessly, screening over 1000 patients for various eye conditions. Among them, a significant number suffered from cataracts and pterygium, conditions that had clouded their world and stolen their independence.
The outreach so far has a tally of 40 free cataract surgeries, which restored sight and independence to those who had been living with blurred vision. This successful event is only the beginning, with more surgeries planned to continue the mission of helping people see the world clearly again.
We remain true to our words “Positively Impacting Lives”.
