The City of Windhoek wishes to inform residents that Council has approved an additional N$100 million funding to support pensioners who were 60 years or older by 30 November 2023, but whose previous applications were not successful.

Council has also approved another N$100 million to extend debt relief to the following groups:
✅Persons with disabilities
✅Child-headed households (21 years and younger)
✅Orphanages
✅NGOs and charitable organisations

Eligible applicants are invited to register from 25 November to 19 December 2025. Registration will continue again from 12 January 2026.

Windhoek water supply disrupted

SEVERAL areas in Windhoek experienced water interruptions today due to burst pipes.

The City of Windhoek reported that a pipe burst on Riekmann Street, affecting the water supply in Academia, Pionierspark, Rocky Crest, and Hochland Park. It also reported another pipe burst on Ondongab Street, disrupting the water supply in Olympia, Kleine Kuppe, Prosperita, and Cimbebasia.

The City of Windhoek assured residents that the water supply will be restored in these neighbourhoods as soon as repair work is completed.
