Giraffes can frequently be spotted feeding on the Acacia trees at Fiume Lodge. Giraffes are herbivorous and can live up to 25 years in the wild. They truly symbolize grace, beauty and resilience.

Often admired by guests at Fiume Lodge, the sausage tree or Kigelia Africana is a tree native to Africa. The sausage shaped fruit can grow up to 100cm long and weigh up to 22kg. The fruit is poisonous when raw but some communities roast the fruit or use it to ferment into an alcoholic drink.

Kazondwe has a choice of 5 campsites, each site with a shower/toilet facility, "braaipit", drinking water and power. The campsites are situated on backwater of the Kwando river on the floodplains.
