What an incredible two days in Long Semiyang, Ulu Baram!

In collaboration with the Department of Agriculture (Agro-Based Industry Division), Miri, we successfully conducted a Food Product Processing Workshop where participants learned to transform local agricultural produce into value-added products.

From Serunding Halia and Serunding Bunga Kantan to Jem Terung Asam and Jus Terung Asam, each session was filled with curiosity, laughter, and hands-on learning.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated with such enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. It’s truly inspiring to see communities embracing new skills that can open doors to sustainable livelihoods.

Every year, the indigenous peoples of Sarawak and Sabah don't just celebrate a good harvest. They celebrate life itself. Gawai in Sarawak and Kaamatan in Sabah are more than just festivals; they're a heartfelt thank you to the gods, the land, and the spirit of rice that has sustained generations.

For the Dayak and Orang Ulu people, it's about honoring the earth that fed them. For the Kadazan-Dusun, it's about remembering the ultimate sacrifice of Huminodun, who gave herself so her people could live. These festivals are where culture stays alive. Through music, dance, food, and the simple act of coming together.

So the next time you see the ngajat dance or hear sumazau music playing, know that it carries centuries of gratitude, love, and identity. This is our roots. This is our pride!

What began as a screening became something much bigger.

From powerful conversations to shared emotions in the room, the story of William Aran Tinggang and the Kenyah (Lepo’ Tau) community of Long Moh efforts of conserving their Nawan Nature Discovery Centre, one of their old forest traditional conserved area. Left a lasting impact on everyone who came.

Thank you to every person who showed up, listened, supported, and stood in solidarity with the voices of Ulu Baram. Your presence reminded us that stories like these matter, and that culture, land, and identity are worth protecting.
