Goodbye mundane Monday! On 27 April, join us at HAUS KCH and get to know Fatemeh Boroujeni, our 2nd artHAUS Artist-in-Residence for the year!
Based in Australia, Fatemeh will present Shirzan—a multimedia installation combining traditional craft with video and sound, created in collaboration with videographer and editor Steven Hughes. At its core is a series of carved wooden lionesses, honouring the heroines who led and lost their lives in the Women, Life, Freedom movement in Iran. The work debuted at the Indian Ocean Craft Triennale 2024 in Perth to resounding reception.
Fatemeh will also share insights into her wider practice as a contemporary jewellery designer, closing with a Q&A session with the audience.

First Reading is a monthly collaboration with Wordsmiths of Kuching! At the heart of every great poetry scene is community. In a world that moves so quickly, gathering in person creates space to slow down, reflect, and connect. Poetry isn’t just about writing, it’s about being heard, and hearing others too.
