A career talk session was successfully conducted for 56 students from hospitality and culinary arts backgrounds to gain valuable insights into the hospitality industry and internship opportunities. The session featured distinguished industry speakers representing renowned hotel properties. The invited speakers were Ng Shen-ynn, Kenneth Samsudin, Muhammad Ikmal Hakim Bin Bukhori from Marriott group Langkawi and Gabriel Jaime Batulay from Shangri-La group Penang.
Students also learned about internship opportunities at prestigious hotels including The St. Regis Langkawi, The Ritz Carlton Langkawi, Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah, Shangri La’s Rasa Sayang Resort & Spa, and Golden Sands Resort by Shangri La.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A where students gained practical advice on professionalism, teamwork, and preparing for their future careers.

The School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA), Penang is proud to announce a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Shangri-La Far Eastern Taipei, a prestigious 5-star luxury hotel recognised with global awards including Condé Nast Traveler’s “World’s Best Hotel” inclusion in the “Michelin Guide Taipei Selection” for Shang Palace Restaurant, “HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia”, and the “Michelin Guide Five Black Pavilions”.
👏 We are excited to share that four SHTCA students have successfully passed their interviews and will begin their internship in June 2026!
This partnership marks another meaningful step in creating global opportunities for our students. We look forward to seeing them grow, learn, and shine on the international stage. 🌏✨
