Day 14: until next time. ✈️❤️

The final day of RondoFest 2026 began with check-outs, airport transfers, luggage trolleys, and a lot of goodbyes.

Over two weeks, strangers became friends, rehearsals became performances, and memories were made across three cities and two countries.

Of course, as with any tour, not every journey home goes exactly according to plan. Some participants enjoyed a remarkably smooth flight experience. Some others enjoyed... additional time to reflect on the festival. 😌

No matter which flight you were on, everyone eventually made their way home carrying the same thing: unforgettable memories.

Until we meet again. 🎶

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Singapore for their generous support in enabling 10 students from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Education University of Hong Kong to participate in RondoFest 2026.

Their participation reflects Hong Kong’s steadfast commitment to nurturing emerging artistic talent and promoting international cultural exchange. This year’s tour to Hanoi is particularly meaningful as it highlights the strengthening ties between Hong Kong and Vietnam. Beyond robust economic and trade relations, initiatives such as these foster deeper cultural engagement and people-to-people connections, not only between the two places but also across the ASEAN region.

Your support plays a vital role in making these transformative experiences possible. Thank you for championing the values of arts, education, and cross-cultural understanding, and for empowering the next generation of musicians to connect, collaborate, and inspire through music.

RondoFest 2026 came to a magnificent close with our Hanoi debut of Mahler’s Symphony No.2! ❤️🇻🇳✨

After days of rehearsals, learning, and collaboration, we brought RondoFest 2026 to a close with an extraordinary evening celebrating music, artistry, and cultural exchange. Under the baton of Tengku Irfan, our Festival Orchestra, soloists, artistic team, and the Hanoi choir came together at the Viet Nam National Academy of Music, with more than 160 musicians joining forces on stage to bring Mahler’s monumental Symphony No.2 to life.

This final performance was a testament to the dedication, passion, and unity that have defined Rondofest 2026. Musicians from diverse backgrounds joined together through a shared commitment to excellence, creating a powerful musical experience that transcended borders and celebrated the transformative power of music.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their time, talent, and support throughout this incredible journey, and to our wonderful audiences who shared these unforgettable moments with us. As we bring RondoFest 2026 to a close, we celebrate not only the music we created together, but also the connections, friendships, and memories that will continue long after the final note has faded.

RondoFest 2026 Day 12 🇻🇳🎶

Today, our participants gathered at the Viet Nam National Academy of Music (VNAM) for their first full orchestra tutti rehearsal in Hanoi. For the first time, the Festival Orchestra rehearsed together with the Hanoi choir, bringing together all the musical forces behind Mahler’s Symphony No. 2.

We were also delighted to welcome two harpists from Hanoi, whose contributions add another unique dimension to this monumental masterpiece. The rich textures and emotional depth of Mahler 2 began to emerge in increasingly powerful ways.

With each rehearsal, individual voices and instruments unite towards a shared artistic vision, driven by a collective passion for music-making. As RondoFest 2026 moves closer to its final performance in Hanoi, we look forward to seeing this collaboration continue to grow and culminate in an unforgettable musical experience. ✨

The Hanoi choir for our upcoming performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 gathered for their first rehearsal last night under the guidance of Tengku Irfan and Susanna Saw. 🎶✨

Marking the beginning of an exciting musical journey, singers came together to explore the powerful and deeply moving choral passages that make Mahler 2 such an extraordinary work. Through focused preparation and collaborative music-making, the choir began shaping the sound, expression, and emotional depth that will form an integral part of this monumental performance.

As RondoFest 2026 approaches its final stop in Hanoi, we look forward to seeing this choir continue to develop and grow.
