When a victim files charges, secures an order of protection, and calls the authorities for help because that order has been violated, their safety depends on absolute confidentiality.
While trying to report a violation, I discovered a terrifying security flaw: anyone who calls your general voicemail can easily listen to every single message left by other callers.
That means a violent abuser can call the sheriff’s office voicemail, listen to the exact messages left by their victim. This is a massive safety hazard for anyone relying on law enforcement for protection. Fix this system immediately. Victims’ safety should never be compromised by a basic technological oversight.
