The best part is we don’t get 1 of each. We are the driver. We get to decide what is worth a green and when we should hold back for the red. And bonus…it can change each day based on what we need.

As much of a message to myself as it is to anyone else who needs to hear it...

Been a while since I've been active on here. Evidently adding another kid to the mix, a busy job, and a fun-filled life can get busy...who knew?!?! 🤣 🤷🏻‍♀️

Cheers to ending the week and getting permission to START AGAIN 👏

Visiting this cenote just outside of Tulum was an experience I will never forgot. The beauty of this place. Of Mother Nature. It took my breath away.

It’s not the GAP in your resume that’s the problem…it’s that it’s not easily understood why you have a GAP.

GaPS of less than 6 months are viewed by most recruiters/HR professionals as a normal part of employment and careers. Case in point: COVID-19 pandemic and layoffs.

BUT...(you knew that was coming, didn't you?)...

Beyond 6 months it's best to explain those gaps either on your resume directly or through your email intro/cover letter.

In a competitive job market, most recruiters will move resumes to the "no pile" when they see gaps between employment that isn't explained. Simply put, they'll focus their energy on resumes/candidates that have straightforward resumes that don't leave them asking a bunch of questions.

Do you have a gap between employment that you need help explaining? Send me a DM 💬 with your questions or comment below ⬇️

Physically, I was back in the office today. Mentally though, I was back in San Diego reminiscing about our little getaway to celebrate my wife’s birthday sans kiddos (well, the non fur ones 🐶) The weather was gorgeous and the company was even better.
