A 40th birthday is a beautiful time for reflection. We feel privileged that Martyna chose to celebrate this milestone with a portrait session at the Cranberry Studio.

When I asked Martyna what inspired her to book this session, she shared: "I wanted to capture a moment in my life that represents growth and self-acceptance. Life moves so quickly and I realized how rarely we pause to document ourselves, not just as mothers or professionals, but as women with our own stories."

It is a reminder not to wait to be photographed; it is a gift you will value even more as time passes. I will be sharing more of Martyna’s experience soon.

Even after 20 years as a photographer, I still understand how uncomfortable it can be to face the camera. When I first opened my studio in Malta, I knew I wanted it to be a safe place for women to shine.

In the past months, I’ve been secretly working on a new black and white series using dramatic lighting. 😊❤📸💡

I love using the contrast of light similar to Caravaggio’s chiaroscuro, but with a modern twist. That makes images sophisticated and powerful. 😍❤📸
