THE LION and Rodney Gatt captured the 14th edition of the Sette Giugno Cup Final, the fourth consecutive running of this prestigious event sponsored by ALDB & Associates for owner Mr J. Cassar.

THE LION was quickest away from the autostart and initially assumed command before willingly surrendering the lead to settle in behind BORDEAUX S, whom he tracked throughout the race. Remaining patiently in the leader's slipstream, Rodney Gatt waited until the final 300 metres before pulling his charge to the outside and asking for a decisive effort.

THE LION responded in magnificent fashion, showcasing his trademark finishing speed. Accelerating powerfully down the home straight, he swept past his rivals to secure victory by just under two lengths. AL CAPONE STECCA finished strongly for second ahead of RAMPANT, CASH BANK BIGI and BORDEAUX S, who completed the placings in that order.

The trophy presentation was conducted by ALDB Managing Director Mr Aldo Busuttil, accompanied by Malta Equidrome CEO Dr Matthew Brincat and Malta Racing Club Vice-Chairman Tony Demanuele.
