A total of 189 projects were submitted for the award, 33 of which went on to be nominated. Thirteen winners were ultimately chosen across the five categories, alongside a Special Jury Award and an Audience Award.

Imagine you are in a lift.

Could also be a squashed up tram. Or even that little tunnel to the plane.

There's a not nice smell. Slightly dank. Not unlike bread but bread that's rank.

It's warm but not cozy.

It slightly burns your nostrils and makes your chest heave.

You need to mouth breathe, but you can taste it. It's almost chewy, in the same way that those disgusting antacids are.

There's the usual surfeit of bankers, tech bros, entrepreneurs. The six gallon coffee types, the Stanley cups, the squeaky shoes.

The gum chewers. The too loud headphones brain melters. The not quite finished exhaling cigarette/vape smoke/vapor door divers.

One of these has let loose this insidious beast. One of these is the culprit of an invisible crime.

As no one makes eye contact anymore the evil doer blends in with the throng, just as the odious gas mixes with Garnier, Versace, DiGio, Laurent, Gaultier.

And, then, 'p**f', just like that it's gone.

The watering eyes the only remaining evidence it existed at all.

6am–10am: The Sam Steen Show. The Breakfast Crew* get things underway with four hours of music, conversation and whatever has wandered into their orbit since we last left him unsupervised. *Today that team is not former commandoes sent to prison for a crime they did not commit, but Mer, JB and Sam.

10am–1pm.: The Lunchbox with Stephen “Steps” Lowe. Three hours of big tunes, new discoveries, guests, quizzes and sentences occasionally arriving somewhere entirely different from where they began.

1pm-3pm: The Afternoon Session with Lucy Genazzini. Lucy takes over for the early afternoon with music, stories and two hours of excellent company.

3pm–7pm: Drive with Tom Einarsson.
Tom handles the journey through late afternoon and early evening, he may even allow an idea to germinate, involving cheese, a brown paper bag and The Smiths.

: On 5 October 1962, The Beatles released their first UK single, “Love Me Do”, backed with “P.S. I Love You”. It initially peaked at a relatively modest number 17, although things did subsequently improve somewhat for the band.

And there's a lovely Luxembourg connection: the record received its first radio play that same evening on Radio Luxembourg. So 64 years ago today, this little country was already helping introduce people to four blokes from Liverpool.
