Happy Friday! In his keynote address to the Digital Innovators Summit at American Corner Maseru today, CDA Hines championed U.S.-Lesotho partnership in digital innovation and AI, highlighting American-led initiatives — from drone delivery to e-commerce and data infrastructure — as pathways to shared prosperity and Lesotho's emergence as a regional AI hub.

As Basotho innovators and entrepreneurs capitalize on opportunities presented by the AI revolution, CDA Hines emphasized the transformative nature of U.S. company Convalt Energy’s 100 billion maloti project in Lesotho to construct 1,200 megawatts of electricity generation as well as a data center, the heart of AI infrastructure.

Kudos to International Visitor Leadership Program alum Tello Leballo on a third successful year of this great initiative!

Congratulations to these dedicated Lesotho government officials! They will spend next week at the International Law Enforcement Academy (ILEA) in Gaborone, Botswana learning advanced interview techniques.

The training will enhance Lesotho’s investigative capacity and help law enforcement effectively obtain information needed to solve complex crimes.

ILEA brings together law enforcement agencies from across the region, strengthening transnational cooperation, increasing law enforcement capacity, and reaffirming 60 years of U.S.-Lesotho relations.
