YOUTH APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM ORIENTATION

The Lesotho Correctional Services (LCS) hosted an orientation program for newly placed 31 candidates under the Youth Apprenticeship Program.

The trainees were warmly welcomed by Deputy Commissioner of Corrections (DCC) Ramaisa, who encouraged them to carry out their duties with undivided devotion, commitment and diligence. They were briefed on the role and mandate of the LCS and encouraged to feel at home within the institution while maintaining a positive mindset and conducting themselves professionally at all times.

The trainees were further urged to respect their supervisors,colleagues and other members of the staff, and to cultivate positive and productive working relationships within the institution.

The event was facilitated by the IESDP Unit, which operates under the supervision of Assistance Commissioner (ACC). Masenkane. The Unit delivered a speech presented by Supt. Thakalekoala, Office Manager at Correctional Headquarters, She explained that the IESDP plays the important role on the education of inmates and remains committed to equipping them with the knowledge and skills that will improve their prospects and support successful reintegration into society following their incarceration.

The following units within the department were presented: Security, Rehabilitation, Human Resources, Planning and Projects, Legal and Human Rights Unit. ASP Sello, from the Legal and Human Rights Unit, administered the official oath of office to the trainees, formally welcoming them as employees of the Lesotho Correctional Service and emphasizing the responsibilities and obligations that accompany their appointment.

FNB Lesotho Wellness Day

Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) has successfully concluded its facilitation of the FNB Lesotho Wellness Day team-building activities across all three regions of the country.

The activities provided employees with an opportunity to step away from their daily routines, connect with colleagues, strengthen teamwork and, most importantly, reflect on the importance of physical, mental, emotional and social wellness in the workplace.

LCS Wellness & Team Building Facilitation Team extends its sincere appreciation to the management of FNB Lesotho and the Lesotho Correctional Service for their support and commitment to making the initiative a success.
