Peter Moore, a visionary designer, created the iconic Jumpman logo that defines the Jordan Brand. Born in 1943, Moore was a key figure at Nike in the 1980s, serving as creative director. In 1984, he crafted the Jumpman by tracing a photo of Michael Jordan dunking, capturing his dynamic athleticism. The logo debuted on the Air Jordan 1 tongue, launching a cultural phenomenon. Moore’s work extended beyond Nike; he designed Adidas’s three-stripe logo and led their creative direction after leaving Nike in 1987. His minimalist yet bold approach shaped sneaker culture, blending sport and style. The Jumpman, born from his pen, became a global symbol of excellence, appearing on sneakers, apparel, and more. Moore’s influence endures in every Air Jordan release, from the 1985 originals to 2025’s retros. His legacy proves a single image can redefine a brand.

Otl Aicher (1922–1991), a renowned German designer, was commissioned by Puma in the run-up to the 1984 Sarajevo and Los Angeles Olympics to develop their visual identity. He created drawings for a new Puma wordmark and a revised logo, featuring a leaping puma in a circle, inspired by geometric principles similar to his Lufthansa crane design. However, the collaboration ended abruptly after a failed meeting with Puma boss Armin Dassler, where Aicher rejected a 10,000 deutsche mark bribe, walked out, and the designs were never implemented. The incident was reconciled posthumously in 2022 with a special collection honoring his work.

Frank Mason Robinson (1845–1923), a bookkeeper for pharmacist John S. Pemberton, played a pivotal role in creating the iconic Coca-Cola brand. In 1886, while working at the Pemberton Chemical Company in Atlanta, Robinson suggested the name "Coca-Cola," believing the alliteration of the two "C"s would be visually striking in advertising. He designed the logo using Spencerian script, a flowing, elegant handwriting style popular among bookkeepers at the time, which conveyed sophistication and distinctiveness. This script, first used in 1887, became the foundation for Coca-Cola’s visual identity. Robinson also crafted early marketing strategies, including newspaper ads in the Atlanta Journal and distributing free drink coupons, helping establish the brand’s popularity. The logo, initially in black, later incorporated the brand’s signature red and white color scheme, with minor adjustments over time, such as trademark placements. Standardized in 1923, the logo has remained largely unchanged, symbolizing timelessness and global recognition. Robinson’s design, rooted in simplicity and memorability, is still used on billions of Coca-Cola products today, making it one of the most recognizable logos worldwide.
