The wife of Majority Bloc Speaker Richard Koon has filed a petition for proper accounting against her husband, accusing him of neglecting to provide her with information about income from their rental properties. These properties are located in the Unity Conference Central, Hotel Africa Road community.

The petitioner, Madam Angeline Mamie Worloh Koon, claims that while an estimated income of $5,110 was reported in 2007, she has had no updates on the income over the past 19 years. She alleges that her husband has not been transparent about the financial details.

In her petition, Madam Koon says they have been married for 25 years and jointly acquired the property in 2004. They built five duplexes on the land in 2005, providing ten rental apartments. She claims they agreed in 2007 to rent the apartments for income, but her husband has since excluded her from the property’s management.

Madam Koon also accuses Speaker Koon of failing to properly maintain the apartments and managing everything without consulting her. She says tenants occupy the apartments without her knowledge.

The Commercial Court of Montserrado County has summoned Speaker Koon to appear on Tuesday, April 1, to respond to the petition. Failure to appear could result in a default judgment against him.

Montserrado Representative Faces Contempt Charges Over Child Support Failures

Former Montserrado County District #3 Representative Ceebee Barshell has been held in contempt of court by the Monrovia City Court for allegedly persistently failing to support his nine-year-old son.

The contempt charge stems from Barshell's alleged disobedience to a court order to cater for his son's school fees, feeding, and rent, totaling $1,900 USD. According to our judicial correspondent, the initiative for the court order was due to Barshell's alleged failure to comply.

In an interview with our judicial correspondent, the child's mother, Zoe Hanries, said the former lawmaker had since failed to make full payments, often paying the amount "in bits and pieces."

Barshell has been summoned to appear in court and show cause why he should not be held in contempt for failing to comply with the court stipulation.

Madam Hanries wants the former representative to shoulder his responsibility as their rent is due this February, amounting to $900 USD.

Efforts made by our reporter to get a response from Barshell were unsuccessful up until press time.

Planning to Escape to the USA after robbing our people – Here is our evidence

The scandal at NOCAL was/is a syndicate. This is the Comptroller of NOCAL who conspired with Ms. Rustonlyn Suacoco Dennis to rob our people of over US$585K. His name is Richmond Emmanuel Jallah. He signed almost all checks, including dubious car orders and unjustified CSR assistance funds.

While the LACC is investigating, Jallah runs to secure a police clearance even though he's also a subject of a criminal investigation. Jallah, passport number PP0192184 and born June 14, 1983, is slyly planning to relocate to the USA after robbing our people of hundreds of thousands of US dollars 💵.

So, he cunningly runs to get a police clearance before the LACC releases its investigative report, which is highly likely to indict him and others for significant corruption.

The attached police clarence which “clears” Jallah of not committing crimes, reads, “This is to certify that files of the Liberia National Police contain no criminal information on the above-named person who is traveling to the United States of America.”

The trick is that Jallah will now use this police clearance to find a job in the USA even though he is undergoing criminal investigation in Liberia.

We call on the LACC to petition the Court to issue a Writ of Ne Exeat against Jallah and all other alleged culprits until the completion of the ongoing LACC investigation. We must not allow them to evade justice and accountability. This man is a subject of a criminal investigation. He cannot be allowed to relocate. We can’t allow him to escape or evade justice. Unacceptable!

The suffering in Liberia is artificial. It is man-made. Greed and Graft are our enemies. This is why we must fight to w**d out State looters. Our people deserve better. Cut down on public wastage and crack down on corruption.
