The Citizen Movement for Change (CMC) was pleased to host Sister Aid Liberia (SALI) and the Netherlands Institute for Multi-Party Democracy (NIMD) for an Intra-Party Gender Dialogue at the CMC Headquarters.
The dialogue focused on advancing women’s political and civic engagement in Liberia, strengthening women’s participation in political party leadership, and identifying practical ways political parties can help address key issues affecting women, including access to affordable healthcare, agricultural support, farm-to-market connectivity, economic empowerment, and inclusive decision-making.
During the engagement, CMC highlighted its ongoing gender-focused efforts, including women’s representation in key leadership positions, the semi-autonomous role of the Women Congress, the Girls Brigade platform for young women and girls, the Young Professionals Program, and the party’s broader commitment to building leadership structures that give women, youth, and grassroots actors meaningful space to participate and lead.
CMC also reaffirmed that women’s inclusion must go beyond election-season politics. It must be reflected in internal party governance, policy development, leadership appointments, community mobilization, and national advocacy.
We extend appreciation to SALI and NIMD for this important engagement and look forward to continued collaboration in strengthening women’s leadership, civic participation, and democratic development in Liberia.
At CMC, we believe women’s leadership is not symbolic it is essential to national transformation.

This initiative is designed to empower women at the community level by promoting savings, financial inclusion, small business support, and economic independence.
The launch was graced by CMC executives and Madam Denise Bility, wife of the Political Leader of the Citizens Movement for Change, who joined women in celebrating this important step toward grassroots empowerment.
Through this initiative, the CMC National Women Congress continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting women, strengthening communities, and creating opportunities for ordinary citizens to improve their lives.
