NEC Conducts Inspection at CMC Headquarters Ahead of 2029 General Elections

MONROVIA, LIBERIA | 27 AUGUST 2026 — The National Elections Commission of Liberia (NEC), through its Political Affairs Section, yesterday visited the headquarters of the Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) as part of its ongoing inspection of the headquarters of registered political parties across Monrovia.

The NEC inspection team was headed by Oversight Commissioner Hon. Floyd Oxley Sayor, who led the engagement with the leadership of the CMC.

The exercise is part of the NEC’s broader effort to assess the administrative, organizational, and institutional readiness of political parties ahead of the 2029 General Elections, while strengthening communication, compliance, and cooperation throughout the electoral cycle.

During the visit, the NEC inspection team engaged the leadership of the CMC and reviewed key aspects of the party’s institutional structure, including its headquarters, leadership arrangements, administrative operations, and facilities available to support the party’s activities.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for the CMC leadership to interact directly with the electoral body on matters relating to political party compliance, institutional preparedness, and the responsibilities of registered political parties within Liberia’s democratic and electoral process.

The CMC appreciates the National Elections Commission, through Commissioner Floyd Oxley Sayor and the inspection team, for the engagement and remains committed to strengthening its institutional structures and working constructively with relevant electoral authorities in support of a credible, transparent, and inclusive democratic process.

As Liberia looks ahead to the 2029 General Elections, the CMC believes that strong political institutions, electoral compliance, and continuous engagement between political parties and the NEC are essential to deepening our democracy.
