Sri Lanka Rugby comfortably took down the Malaysia Rugby with a score of 59(9T-7C) to 19 (3T-2C). Sri Lanka will now qualify to play in the Asia Emirates Rugby Championship 2025. Where Sri Lanka will be hosting South Korea and UAE and will be traveling to Hong Kong China game.

Before all of that Sri Lanka will host the New Zealand U85KG in nittawela ON 4th May.

In a Cliffhanger of scrappy affairs a youthful Kandy Sports Club beat the prime CR & FC with the score line of 41(5T-5C-2P) -33 (5T-4C) to bring the Clifford Cup No 22 back to Hill Capital.

With this results Kandy have regained Both League and Knockout titles.

It’s another Rugby weekend and another solid performance from Kandy Sports Club, who triumphed 50-24 (7T-6C-1P) against the formidable Havelocks Sports Club (3T-3C-1P). This victory confirms the end of the league seasons and the title is back in the Hill Capital.

The title win assures the club will host all their Clifford Cup matches at Nittawela.

Kandy Sports Club has kept it going despite all the setbacks. The score line reads as 22(3T-2C-1P) against the defending champions CR & FC 13 (1T-1C-2P).

Despite there is no sign of Kandy slowing down or giving up or even ground getting clogged with water. Still Kandy needs only one more try and Loosing the match by less than 7 points to bring the title back home.

Whether it is Day or Night or Cold or Dry and what looked like an Arid Land in Longdon Place, Kandy Sports Club beat Defending champions CR & FC with very much one way traffic of 32(5T-2C-1P) to 10(1T-1C-1P).

With this KandySC Wraps First Round as table toppers with 47 points and as the only unbeaten team. The Havelock Sports Club remains in 2nd Place with 42 points and the CR and FC sit in 3rd with 37 points. It is going to be a tough ask with both havies and CR needs to travel up for the 2nd round.

Fun fact : Kandy has always come back Stronger, whenever they concede first during this Season.

Kandy Sports Club Leads at lemon with 15(3T-0C) to CR & FC 7(1T-1C) with 3 missed kicks by visitors hosts still very much in contention.

Kandy Sports Club 43 (7T-4C) Beats Police SC 22(4T-1C) to maintain the unbeaten run in the penultimate week.

While the cracker at the Havelocks park went Havelock Sports Club 53(8T-5C-1P) way by beating Defending champions CR & FC 42(7T-2C-1P).

With this result at Police Park and with the outcome of the match at Havelocks park. Havelocks SC Climbs to the top of the table with 42 points while KandySC climbs the table to 2nd place with 41 points and CR and FC goes down to 3rd place from top of the table with 37 points. Both CR And KSC have a game in hand.

Next week will be a wrap for the First round with Kandy traveling back to Colombo to meet the defending champs CR which would be the game which will settle the top 3 of the table.
