It's been a while since I shared anything - I've been on an extended hiatus because Life was simply Lifing... However, last year, an exciting opportunity came my way and I'm thrilled to finally have something to share with you again 💗

If you ever had a chance to visit my store back then, you'd probably remember the atmosphere of the space. I missed that atmosphere so so much but retail was not something I was ready to get into again - for now.

I came across this beautiful space on Park Road, full of natural light and full of possibilities... That's when the idea of creating a co-working café with the SAND energy came to my mind.

After many months in the making I'm delighted to share we will be opening our doors for bookings from February 23rd onwards!

I won't reveal too much here but if you're keen to get to know more about the space and its concept - I invite you to follow .co 💫

The best part is that I still get the chance to play with flowers every other week - which you know is something that I love more than anything. 😍

It's funny how things work out in the end... With patience, perseverance and trust - the Universe might surprise you in the most magical ways 💫🌻🍀

Hi everyone! It's been a while ✨✨

I'm here to share some exciting news!

As you may or may not know, I've been the nose behind the fragrance of my candles.

I've been pairing scents together since 2016 and as a matter of fact, candles were my very first product! This is something I've always loved doing.

I'm super pleased to finally reveal the line of hand-poured soy fragrant candles I've been working on.

This collection is an ode to the rich history and heritage of the Middle East, Africa, India, and South America, where all notes originate from.

This collection has been a labor of love and it's taken me a long long time to release it.

I must admit that even though I'm super happy with the candle - the packaging is not up to my expectations.

I couldn't compute the advice of my circle continuously encouraging me to release this collection already even if the packaging isn't to my standard - But, here I am, finally taking your advice, finally releasing it.

I've learned my lesson and I am working on a new vessel + new packaging for my 2nd batch of candles, which I am quite excited about!

The scents are so luxurious and deep, I'm so thrilled to finally share them with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Guys, it's been 2 long overwhelmingly hectic years in the making. From the Easter bombings, to a global pandemic to becoming a Mom and now surviving a dire economic crisis - I never thought the day would come for me to be able to FINALLY retail again.

The daily challenges us Sri Lankans face are stressful, quite appalling and really heartbreaking. Trying to make a living out of a small business seems like the worst idea right now. But, we need to keep trying even with the most limited resources available. Each product retailed at SAND is crafted by local artisans, artists and growers. Purchasing nothing but one product would contribute to the livelihood of our resilient community.

SAND has now evolved into a little lifestyle brand housing a curated selection of products from other local small vendors. These vendors are now part of the SAND family and I am delighted to host a little pop-up showcasing their limited selection of super cool products.

Looking forward to seeing you beautiful souls again, if you can (as there's no fuel in the country) jeeze I hope I'll be able to make it myself though 😂😭

What a delight it was getting back on a scaffolding after years!! 😍 I was so so excited about this impromptu installation.

The night before the event, the event planner was compelled to make some changes which meant I was going to be left with a whole load of foliage. Discarding 💯 & 💯 of fresh 🌿🌿 was just unimaginable to me.

For the hallway, I was meant to hang creepers trailing down the balconies but I suggested removing the creepers and creating a massive floating foliage cloud instead.

Result was pretty nice actually!

AND… I decided to name it:

If anyone would like the SAND Cloud done for an event - give me a shout!

It’s been well over a year since I shared a tuk tuk with a plant so I thought of sharing a photo for the occasion!

Also thought it would be a good time to let you know I’ve been working on new website and it’s almost done!

I am so so excited to finally be relaunching SAND online with a fresh new range of products from the freshest brands on the island.

It’s been a long time coming but just like me, SAND took some time to grow and evolve…

But we are back baby! 🌸

Here’s a throwback to the first and last installation I did in 2020 - a year full of unexpected surprises.

Hopefully more of these will come my way in 2021 as I absolutely love creating foliage backdrops! 🤞🏽
