⚜️ Taking the First Step Towards Becoming Rover Scout Leaders

Ready to guide, mentor, and inspire the next generation of young adults in Scouting.

Seven representatives from Colombo commenced their leadership journey by participating in the Phase I Introductory Adult Leader Training Course – Rover, held on 6th and 7th June 2026 at the Sri Lanka Scout Association – Colombo District Branch.

Organised by the Rover Department of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, the programme provided participants with a foundation in Rover Scouting, leadership, youth development, and the responsibilities of an Adult Leader.

We wish all participants the very best as they continue their journey of service, leadership, and commitment to developing young people through Scouting.

Colombo Scouts Congratulate 🎉 Master Demitha Hansada on his appointment as the Head Prefect of D. S. Senanayake College for the year 2025/26.

A former Assistant Troop Leader of the 60th Colombo Scout Troop and a recipient of the President's Scout Award, Demitha exemplifies the values of leadership, service, and commitment.

Wishing him every success as he embarks on this new journey of leadership.

The 60th Colombo Scout Group of D. S. Senanayake College proudly congratulates President's Scout Demitha Hansada on his appointment as Head Prefect of D. S. Senanayake College for 2026/27.

A recipient of the highest award in Sri Lankan Scouting and the former Assistant Troop Leader (2023/24) of the 60th Colombo Scout Group, he has consistently exemplified the values of leadership, service, discipline, and commitment. His appointment as Head Prefect is a fitting recognition of his dedication and outstanding contribution to both Scouting and the College community.

We wish him every success as he undertakes this prestigious responsibility and continues to lead with integrity, vision, and excellence.

Scout Officials of Colombo gathered for a high-impact planning and strategy meeting on Wednesday, 3rd June 2026, mapping out the months ahead while sharing knowledge, experiences, and best practices to strengthen Scouting across the district.

Key discussions focused on Youth Programme Delivery, Leader Training, Membership Growth & Development, Standards & Quality Assurance, Media & Outreach, and upcoming district initiatives and events.

Together, we plan, collaborate, and lead with purpose.

The Scouts and Leaders of the 46th Colombo Scout Troop, Chitra Lane School for Special Children, organised a Milo Dansala for their school community, spreading kindness, compassion, and joy in celebration of Vesak.

A glimpse into the welcoming of the Sri Lankan Contingent to the Jamboree site and the colourful Opening Ceremony of the 1st National Scout Jamboree of Bhutan 2026, which officially commenced today, 26th May 2026, in Paro, Bhutan 🇱🇰🇧🇹⚜️

The Opening Ceremony was graced by Her Excellency Sherig Lyonpo Yeezang De Thapa, Minister of Education of Bhutan.

Senior Scout Aadithya Abeysundara of the 60th Colombo Scout Troop is representing Sri Lanka alongside Mr. Amil Abeysundara – Assistant Chief Commissioner and Mr. Saminda Jayasekara – Headquarters Commissioner.

It is a huge honour to be part of this historic occasion as Bhutan hosts its very first National Scout Jamboree, and a proud moment to see Colombo Scouts represented at this milestone event.

The contingent also had the privilege of meeting the Chief Commissioner of Bhutan, the Chief Commissioner and officials of the Bharat Scouts & Guides, together with several Scouting leaders from across the sub-region as activities officially commenced.

The Jamboree atmosphere already looks vibrant and full of friendship, culture, and adventure — wishing the contingent an unforgettable experience ahead. 🌍

One step closer towards the Wood Badge. ⚜️

Ms. Sonali Fernando of the 64th Colombo Scout Group participated in the 6th Phase IV Singithi Scout Leaders Advanced Course held from 5th to 10th May 2026 at the Lee Dasanayake Scout Training Centre, Mihirigama.

Further highlighting Colombo’s presence, Ms. Inoka Jayasekara (LT), District Singithi Scout Leader, served as the Deputy Course Leader of the course.

Wishing them continued success in their Scouting journey and leadership development.
