Annual General Meeting of IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa.

University of Moratuwa plays a crucial role in the IEEE community in Sri Lanka.
From producing talented student volunteers to IEEE global level leaders, IEEE in UOM is well structured and supportive.

I need to highlight two key moments during this year as the Student Activities Chair of IEEE Sri Lanka Section, the immense support we received from UOM for the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student | YP | WIE Congress and IEEE JamborIEEE events.

I wish to recognize the efforts of the outgoing committee led by Sanjula Gathsara and the team, and wish all the very best for the upcoming committee.

Special mention to Uvindu Kodikara, who is also from UOM and a Vice Chair in the Student Activities Committee, for his leadership and contributions to SLSAC and Congress this year.

3rd JamborIEEE of 2025 was hosted at Open University of Sri Lanka.

As the Chair of the Student Activities Committee (SLSAC) of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, I am truly grateful to the Branch Engagement Sub Committee and all the Student Branches of Zone C for making it happen.

Super happy to participate in the IEEE Day Celebrations at the University of Vocational Technology. A brilliantly organized event!

As the Chair of the Students Activities Committee SLSAC, I had the privilege of sharing my personal IEEE journey, focusing on the importance of capturing opportunities.

It was wonderful to be joined by IEEE Sri Lanka Section Chair Prof. Shanmuganathan Vasanthapriyan and Immediate Past Chair Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe.

It was a true honor to host the certification ceremony for the Youth
Leadership Program by the Eisenhower Fellowship Association of Sri Lanka.

A sincere thank you to the Eisenhower Fellowship Association of Sri Lanka for initiating this impactful program, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders in Sri Lanka.

To all the inspiring youth leaders who were recognized, Congratulations on this significant achievement. I wish you the very best of luck as you move forward to create positive change.

The Eisenhower Fellowships is a prestigious international program that identifies, empowers, and connects innovative mid career leaders. Through a unique fellowship experience, it fosters dialogue and collaboration among global change makers, helping them achieve greater impact in their communities.

I am super glad that I had the chance to be part of this special occasion and celebrate their success.

It was an honor to host The SHED 7.0 Development Partners Community Meetup, bringing together such a diverse and powerful group! A big thank you to TRACE - Sri Lanka and IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka for organizing this vital platform.

Seeing representatives from embassies, development cooperation bodies, INGOs, government agencies, and innovation ecosystem leaders engage in meaningful dialogue and collaboration truly underscores the collective commitment to progress.

The 2nd Phase of "JamborIEEE 2025" was successfully concluded a few weeks back at Rajarata University of Sri Lanka

This event was organized as a collective effort by IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa, IEEE Student Branch of SLIIT, IEEE Student Branch of Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, IEEE Student Branch of University of Vocational Technology, IEEE Student Branch University of Jaffna and IEEE Student Branch of University of Vavuniya in collaboration with IEEE Sri Lanka Section Students Activities Committee SLSAC.

It was a gathering of 100+ undergraduates from 6 universities in the country where they shared experience, knowledge and collected wonderful memories.

I was honored to join, connect and share few words with these enthusiastic students who can make a great in IEEE community going forward.

Well done to the organizers and SLSAC Branch Engagement Vice Chair Yohan Joseph, Coordinator Ramudu Welikala and All 6 Student Branch Chairs for the tremendous effort.

IEEE CS TechX Sri Lanka 2025

It was a memorable moment to join the panel discussion of Tech X Sri Lanka 2025 along with 3 chairpersons and a past secretary of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka. This event was organized by IEEE Volunteers of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University Premises.

I'm incredibly proud to share the success of the first IEEE Andaheraya Session Series! Organized by the Student Activities Committee of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section in collaboration with the IEEE Student Branch of University of Ruhuna,

This initiative is all about empowering the next generation of IEEE leaders in Sri Lanka.

Our inaugural session was hosted at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Ruhuna, and I have to give a huge shout-out to the talented volunteers of the Ruhuna Student Branch, led by their exceptional Chairperson, Hiruna. Their dedication and meticulous planning made this event truly memorable.

We delivered a comprehensive session covering topics such as importance of IEEE, the volunteer journey, essential skills for the 2030 job market, and Student Branch operational guidelines.

It was a privilege to present alongside with the brilliant team of SAC, Joshiga, the Section Student Representative; Yohan, our Branch Engagement Vice Chair, Sudesh, our Public Visibility Vice Chair.

Being part of a community where we can serve others while gaining valuable experience is truly a privilege. This event was a testament to the power of collaboration and the passion of our volunteers. I'm excited to see the impact of this series and the future successes of our student members!

It was an immense pleasure to deliver the keynote speech at the IEEE Open Day, organized by the dedicated volunteers of the IEEE Student Branch at Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka. As the Student Activities Chair of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section, it’s always a privilege to engage with such bright and enthusiastic future leaders.

This visit felt particularly special, as Uva Wellassa University is more than just a campus, it holds a special place in my heart since my brother, sister, and Thrivi all studied there. Seeing the incredible passion and engagement of the new students was truly inspiring; their energy made for one of the most receptive audiences I’ve had the honor of speaking to.

A huge thank you to Asiri and the entire IEEE Uva Wellassa University community for the warm invitation and for organizing such a well executed and impactful event. Your commitment to continuing the legacy of excellence is evident, and I am confident that the branch will achieve great things. I wish you all the very best!
