PHSRC Meeting. Industrial ted for 120th time on last Friday 9th June 2017 Dr Lakith Peri's from Private Sector acted as the Chairman and did a good job

We have a new Chairman from several months back Dr Jayasundara Bandara assumed duties as Director General of Health Services and became the PHSRC Chairman by ex officio The Hon Minister of Health appointed four members to representative the general public in four fields (At PHSRC Secretariet yesterday morning clearing all files)

PHSRC will be having it's last Council meeting for 2016 on
the last working day of this year. That will be a special meeting because it will be last meeting chaired by the present DG Health Services. Best wishes to him from PHSRC. He cod a marvelous service to private health sector regulation as well as development

The Registration Certificate and Recognition Board are being issued to registered private medical institutes every year....

In Sri Lanka Private Health Services Regulatory Council has participants from the Government as well as private sector.This unique situation has its own advantages and disadvantages.If everyone is taking fair and justifiable decisions this is very appropriate.

I spent whole of my Saturday morning in searching for private health services regulations in the World.Amazing to that almost all of them I searched ,the regulations lie with the Government. Sri Lanka seems to be the only exception. No wonder we have many problems and issues because we have tried to be an exception.

Last PHSRC meeting was pleasing.....PHSRC is doing the work in a more diplomatic way....

The first meeting for year 2014 was held on 17 January......Lot of new suggestions...new ideas....

PHSRC is planning to commence the second course of refresher/gap filling course for "private sector nurses" who are employed at present in collaboration with NAITA and APHNH. The first course had been conducted 2009 and after that it was at a stand still due to many problems.Hope this will be going smoothly with lessons from the fast...

Complain Handling Committee....Held yesterday after about 2 months...Are we really doing something about the enormous complaints we get.....PHSRC has to seriously think about this.
