plasticcycle
We are a Social Entrepreneurship initiative launched by the John Keells Group.
Every piece of plastic ever made still exists... unless we change the script. ♻️
Today on World Recycling Day, we’re reminding you that plastic isn’t the enemy ,how we treat it is. At plasticcycle, we’re turning what was once waste into a resource for tomorrow.
Let’s close the loop together. 🌍💚

We often forget that what we call "trash" is actually just a material that has lost its way.
That plastic bottle in your hand? It’s not garbage. It’s a future park bench where everyone will rest. It’s a raw material waiting for a second chance to tell a new story.
When we choose to recycle, we aren't just cleaning up; we are writing the next chapter of this planet. We are choosing to leave behind resources instead of burdens.
This World Recycling Day, don't just throw it away. Look at it, and give it the chance to become something beautiful.
Do it for the children who will walk this earth long after we are gone.

When sustainability meets the dance floor!
As part of Code Green 2026, 20 passionate employees from across our business units took over Havelock City Mall on 15th March with an electrifying flash mob performance - all in the name of responsible plastic waste disposal! 🎶♻️
Together with our incredible Group Volunteers, we turned heads, raised awareness, and proved that going green can be fun, bold, and unforgettable. Because protecting our planet deserves more than a promise - it deserves a performance. 🌍✨
Let's move, let's act, let's make a difference. One dance step at a time. 💚

Plastic is a durable, versatile material. To honor its value, we simply need to be smart about how we use it.
Start by Reducing consumption take only what you need. Next, Reuse items wherever possible to give them a second life.
Finally, when a product has served its purpose, Recycle it to ensure the material is recovered and repurposed. Follow the 3 Pillars to turn potential waste into valuable resources.

Looking for a quick getaway just outside the city?
Head over to Besama Beach in Uswetakeiyawa.
It’s the perfect spot to soak up the sun, enjoy the ocean breeze, and relax under the palm trees.
But while you're enjoying the coastal vibes, keep an eye out for our fin-tastic friend on the sand! 🐟✨
We’ve placed a special Plasticcycle bin here to help keep this beautiful stretch of shoreline clean. It’s designed to look like a fish, reminding us that plastic waste doesn't belong in the ocean.
Please remember the rules when using this bin:
✅ YES! Dispose of your plastic waste here.
❌ NO! Please do not throw in food waste or other trash.
Let’s work together to protect our beaches and marine life. Dispose responsibly! ♻️💚

We all leave footprints. But a plastic footprint is the hardest one to erase. Be mindful of what you leave behind. Drop your bottle in a Plasticcycle bin and lighten your load.

We spotted this little local inspector on patrol today!
He seems very interested in our green bin. Help us out what exactly is he thinking?
A) "Is this the new VIP lounge for bottles?"
B) "I think I saw a tasty roll in here..."
C) "Just checking if the neighbors are recycling!"
D) "Drop it like it's hot!

The South Palagala Reef is a living, breathing ecosystem, and on February 4th, we suited up to protect it. Plastic pollution and ghost nets don't take a day off, and neither do we.
With a squad of 6 divers and 2 powerful dives, we managed to extract 22kg of plastic pollution and ghost nets from the reef. Every kilogram removed is a victory for the turtles, fish, and coral that call these waters home.

Today, our voices filled the streets, demanding a better world and a brighter tomorrow. The energy was powerful, the passion was real, and the message was clear.
But as the sun sets on the rallies, let’s ask ourselves: Does our love for our country extend to the streets we walk on?
The plastic bottles and wrappers left behind don't just disappear. Someone ,another human being has to wake up tomorrow morning to clean them up. Let’s save them that trouble.
Let’s show our gratitude for this land by keeping it clean, not just today, but every day.
Please, don’t leave your plastic behind. Treat it with care. Drop it into a Plasticcycle bin.
