"ෂේර්" (Sher - අර්ථය: සිංහයා හෝ කොටියා) ලෙස නම් කර ඇති මෙම මූලාකෘතිය විදේශීය බලපත්රලාභී අවි කොටස් එකලස් කිරීමේ සිට සම්පූර්ණ දේශීය ආරක්ෂක නිෂ්පාදන ක්ෂේත්රය දක්වා ඉන්දියාව ලැබූ දැවැන්ත ජයග්රහණයකි
මෙම රයිෆලය නිෂ්පාදනය කර ඇත්තේ ඉන්දීය සන්නද්ධ බලකායන් නවීන අවිවලින් සන්නද්ධ කිරීම සඳහා ඉන්දියාව සහ රුසියාව ඒකාබද්ධව පිහිටුවන ලද Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL) සමාගම විසිනි
උත්තර ප්රදේශ් ප්රාන්තයේ අමේති දිස්ත්රික්කයේ පිහිටි කෝර්වා IRRPL කර්මාන්තශාලාවේදී මෙම සන්ධිස්ථානය සනිටුහන් විය
2023 අගභාගයේ සිට ඉන්දියාව මෙහි කොටස් එකලස් කිරීම් සිදු කළද, මෙම "ෂේර්" මූලාකෘතිය මඟින් රයිෆලයේ ඇති සියලුම උපාංග 50 ම සහ ඒ සඳහා අවශ්ය අමුද්රව්ය 100% ක්ම ඉන්දියාව තුළම නිපදවා ගැනීමට හැකි වී ඇත
මිලිමීටර් 7.62×39 කැලිබර් වර්ගයේ මෙම රයිෆලයට මිනිත්තුවකට වට (rounds) 700 ක වේගයකින් වෙඩි තැබිය හැකි අතර, එහි සඵල පරාසය (effective range) මීටර් 800 කි.
IRRPL හි ප්රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී මේජර් ජෙනරාල් එස්. කේ. ෂර්මා ප්රකාශ කළේ, මෙම මූලාකෘතිය දැනටමත් වට 9,000 කට වඩා වෙඩි තබා සාර්ථකව මූලික පරීක්ෂණ නිම කර ඇති බවයි
IRRPL සමාගම මෙම 100% දේශීය රයිෆල් කණ්ඩායමක් 2026 සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේදී ඉන්දීය හමුදාවේ නිල ක්ෂේත්ර පරීක්ෂණ සඳහා භාර දීමට නියමිතය. මේවා සාර්ථක වුවහොත්, දැනට ඉන්දීය පාබල හමුදාව භාවිතා කරන පැරණි INSAS රයිෆල් වෙනුවට මේවා ආදේශ කෙරෙන අතර, තත්පර 100 කට එක් රයිෆලය බැගින් නිෂ්පාදනය කිරීමට කර්මාන්තශාලාව සැලසුම් කර ඇත.
