The White Rabbit has always maintained that nothing good happens in the heat.

Outside, Phnom Penh sweats.

Inside, the air is cold, the lights are low, and somewhere behind the bar there is a door that isn’t obviously a door.

Beyond it, things become a little less straightforward.

A cupboard of old bottles bearing names that respectable pharmacists stopped whispering a century ago. Laudanum, O***m, Quaaludes…Remedies, apparently, for ailments nobody seems to suffer from anymore.

We don’t serve any of them.

Obviously.

We serve only the finest cocktails…ice cold beers…draught Guinness and a few choice wines..

Oh…and air conditioning.
