There is little emphasis on this part of Cambodia and yet it features some of the most bucolic and peaceful countryside in the region. It is also remarkably uncommercialised and under developed, making it even more photogenic and delightful to visit. The crumbling French built town of Kampot with its nearby caves and rice fields blends into Kep, the former seaside gateway for the Phnom Penh elite of the 1960's and now home to some delightful villa accommodation and a setting that is enchanting.

One of the few areas in the region that retains its old world atmosphere.
