I’m proud to be taking part in the new @genesiscareuk Second Chance campaign which aims to raise awareness of where in the body secondary breast cancer is most likely to strike and the symptoms to look out for. Between 10% and 40% of UK patients diagnosed with primary breast cancer go on to develop secondary breast cancer so I am urging all breast cancer survivors like me, to flag their medical history to their GP, no matter how small or insignificant their new symptoms. The Second Chance campaign aims to champion hope by showing how an early diagnosis, coupled with advances in treatments, is achieving much better outcomes and improving quality of life for patients.
