The 13th Annual Triad Foundation Golf Challenge is almost here! This Friday, 18th September 2026, we take to the greens at Muthaiga Golf Club in partnership with Mukuru Slums Development Project to support the development of a vocational training facility in Mukuru, Nairobi.

Through this partnership, we are working towards creating spaces that equip young people with practical skills, open doors to opportunities, and contribute to stronger, more empowered communities. 🤝🏾

Together with Triad Foundation, MSDP had the pleasure of hosting the Chancery Wright Insurance team for a young mothers’ empowerment session at the MSDP grounds.

The session brought together 120 young mothers from Mukuru informal settlement, creating a space for connection, encouragement, learning, and empowerment. 🌱

As part of the initiative, the young mothers received sanitary towels and assorted essential items, helping promote dignity, wellbeing, and confidence.

We are grateful to Triad Foundation and Chancery Wright Insurance for standing with young mothers and investing in their wellbeing and empowerment.

Together, we can create opportunities, restore dignity, and build stronger communities. 🤝🏽💙

The Salty Sacco team and friends visited our HalfWay House Rehabilitation Center, and the joy they brought with them was contagious. From cheers and raised hands the moment they walked in, to a hot meal served fresh, food supplies, mattresses, clothing, and even fresh haircuts for our boys, every gesture was felt and deeply appreciated.
To the Salty Sacco family: thank you for giving your time, your resources, and your hearts to our boys and young mothers. Days like this remind them that they are seen, valued, and not walking this journey alone.
At MSDP, we remain committed to creating safe spaces where children can heal, rebuild their lives, and embrace a second chance. We are deeply grateful for partners like Salty Sacco who continue to show up and make that journey a little brighter.

In Mukuru during school holidays we engage children in Talent development in Performing Arts and and football this is more than a sport — it’s a movement for positive change.
Through Mukuru Sports Association (MUSA) MSDP Kenya After-school Program we engage boys and girls engage in structured Performing Arts (Dance and Acrobats) football training, MUSA Under-11 League and that promote discipline, unity, and personal growth.
These engagements help reduce exposure to risks such as early pregnancies, gender-based violence (GBV), and drug abuse — offering a safe and empowering space for Children development.

Empowering Teen Mothers in Mukuru, One Session at a Time 💜

MSDP's Social Office Department hosted a support session for teen mothers within the Mukuru community — and the turnout said it all. 160 young mothers showed up, ready to be heard, supported, and uplifted.

Beyond the session itself, the day made real impact:
🔹 52 girls underwent mental health screening
🔹 Teen mothers received diapers and assorted essentials

Behind every teen mother is a story of resilience. Sessions like this remind us that healing happens in community — and that small acts of support can restore dignity and hope.

MSDP remains committed to walking alongside the young mothers of Mukuru, because every girl deserves a chance to thrive. 🌱

Transforming Dreams into Opportunities

Mukuru Skills Training Centre (MUST), an initiative of MSDP, continues to empower young people with practical, NITA-aligned skills in Catering, Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Dressmaking, Plumbing, and ICT.

Beyond skills development, MUST supports learners through counseling services, sanitary product provision, and an on-site daycare facility that enables young mothers to continue their education.

With learners already securing employment, industrial attachments, and contributing to community improvement projects, the future is bright.

Day of the African Child 2026

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy, safe, and full of hope. Yet, for many children across Africa, access to clean water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene remains a daily challenge.

As we prepare to commemorate the Day of the African Child, we reflect on this year's theme:

"Ensuring Universal Access to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene for Every Child in Africa."

Access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene is more than a basic need—it is a fundamental right that supports children's health, education, dignity, and overall well-being. When children have access to these essential services, they are better able to attend school, stay healthy, and reach their full potential.
