It was a pleasure for teams from EROG and CJEA to visit Owinouhuru today to deliberate issues on environmental Justice together with our partners from the KIOS foundation.

RESOUNDING VICTORY IN COURT
Today marks an important milestone for environmental justice.The application by NEMA Kenya claiming that the environment had “self-remediated” has been FOUND TO HAVE NO MERIT by the court.
This decision reaffirms the need for accountability and proper environmental restoration.
We now await the judgement on who will receive the KSh 700 MILLION allocated for the environmental clean-up and restoration.

The Supreme Court has affirmed compensation and environmental remediation—yet to this day, The Office of Attorney-General and Department of Justice Nema Kenya, the Ministry of Environment, and the Export Processing Zones Authority have failed to act. Their silence deepens the injustice.
