PreHospital Emergency Medical Service Programme

"Influencing people, Saving Lives PHEMS is the premier institution for training in prehospital emergency medical care in Jamaica.

We began training of EMT's for the Jamaica Fire Brigade in 1996. We have continued training of EMT's for the Jamaica Fire Brigade, corporate bodies and private individuals. PHEMS also certifies EMT's in other Caribbean territories like Antigua, Bermuda and St Lucia. Our training follows The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's NHTSA standard curriculum, and our graduates have gone on to be employed in the USA and complete paramedic training there
