The CSEC Math Tutor is all about Mathematics and Math related subjects in High school and University. We offer classes and private tutoring online.
The CSEC Math Tutor is the brain child of Andrew Hunter. He is passionate about the teaching of Mathematics and has been doing so as a hobby for as long as he can remember. In his hobby, he has helped many students to pass the subject at all the various levels- GSAT, CXC, CAPE and University. Formally, he has taught CSEC and CAPE Mathematics at Dinthill Technical High School for a year. He has been a Part- Time Lecturer for a number of mathematics related courses since 2000 at the University of the West Indies and Northern Caribbean University. The CSEC Math Tutor offers expert exam preparation in courses such as CSEC and CAPE mathematics at the High School level and Fundamentals of Mathematics, College Algebra, Calculus, Statistics and Quantitative Methods at the University level. Classes are primarily offered ONLINE since 2019. Students may attend classes in the evenings and/or weekends or pre- arranged times for private tutoring. When we started back in 2014, the Ministry of Education website reported that the pass rate for CSEC mathematics was less than 35%. One of the aims of The CSEC Math Tutor is to improve this statistic.

Whenever there was something I didn’t understand, you would even go over the scheduled/allotted time for the class to ensure I got a firm grasp on the topics. Three tips in mastering mathematics:
- Try to relate the theory to real life situations(The best tutors are the ones who can lead the thinking of the students in that direction; the best students are the ones who can do that on their own)
- Learning is doing so practice as much as you can and as soon as you can after the class. Both the practice and the timing of the practice are critically important.
- Have the resources: ( a) Buy the texts, (b) Seek help from persons better than yourself in math,(c) Tap into the internet, lots of useful sites are there.
