A New Chapter in Chinese Design brings together an emerging wave of Chinese designers under the unifying concept of "100". The exhibition showcases lighting fixtures and interior design pieces that trace where contemporary Chinese design is heading.

Curated by Maria Gao in partnership with He Huang. Participating designers: Jean Chen (Chen Jin), Joe Chen, Andy Deng, Xian Song, Jiankang Zhao.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Ryoko Nakamura, architectural and product lighting designer based between Kyoto and New York, with over 20 years of experience across large-scale commercial, public, and hospitality projects in the US and Japan.

She founded Triptych to bring a spatial understanding of light to an intimate scale, sculptural forms combined with centuries-old Kyoto craftsmanship, with the aim of preserving these traditions and passing them on to new generations. Her Lotus Lamp series is the expression of that vision

Today we introduce João Pedro Sales, Brazilian designer and founder of Continuo Studio - trained at FAU-USP and with a Master's in Integrated Product Design from the Politecnico di Milano.

Founded in 2025, his studio explores 3D printing as a design language in itself: polymers, process, and form working together to create objects with identity that belong in everyday life. His Forms of Light collection brings that approach to lighting

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026

Today we introduce Adhavan Sundaramurthy, architect, designer, and founder of Padaipu, a Chennai-based practice working across architecture, interiors, and objects through a culturally rooted lens.

A graduate of SCI-Arc Los Angeles and founder of Thamizh Futurism, his work draws from local materials, memories, and ways of living without being bound by nostalgia.

His object Thoon, a 3D-printed reinterpretation of the iconic columns of Chettinad architecture, abstracts their proportions and layered profiles into a sculptural form that carries the colour and material richness of the region into a contemporary register
