Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Brigitta B. Horváth, a contemporary artist and silversmith whose practice spans more than 30 years and over 30 international exhibitions.

Her work moves between jewelry and sculptural objects, guided by a sustained research into metamorphosis and the meaning of human gesture. Her Metamorphosis of the Moon's Phases series, one-of-a-kind pieces in silver-plated copper, worked through chiselling, reflects a practice rooted in ancient technique and a precise, minimalist sensibility.

OPEN STUDIO

Venice Design Week opens beyond its own program, into the studios that open their doors across the city.

This year, Art Studio Jola Słoma & Mirek Trymbulak opens its doors to Venice Design Week with "The Seven Deadly Sins", a collective show by seven artists built around ceramics, stove tiles and artistic lamps, with painting as a narrative backdrop.

Each artist works the theme of sin, desire, pride, wrath, temptation, through their own material and language: bronze reliefs, glazed bowls, industrial lamps rebuilt from vintage cameras, illuminated stone.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Louise Hurth, a French designer whose practice develops at the intersection of landscape, architecture, and objects, rooted in the Vosges Mountains, shaped by close observation of places and materials.

Her collection Les Veilleurs explores light as a living presence: lighting pieces made from locally sourced wine bottles and steel offcuts, produced in Alsace.

Light passes through the glass, metal amplifies its reflections, each piece carries the memory of the territory it comes from.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Marek Błażucki, interior architect, designer, and Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, and co-founder of a Polish furniture brand rooted in multigenerational carpentry tradition.

His practice spans interior design, applied graphic arts, and furniture, with a conviction that good form outlasts trends. Every piece is fully produced in Poland, developed through careful material selection and a design process that begins, always, with a sketch.

VDW e MUSEO D’ARTE ORIENTALE DI VENEZIA

Venice Design Week e il Museo d’Arte Orientale di Venezia collaborano a un nuovo progetto espositivo per il 2026: Geografie della Tavola. Design contemporaneo tra Europa e Asia.

La mostra sarà ospitata all’interno del museo, un dialogo tra design contemporaneo, cultura materiale e immaginari estetici che attraversano Europa e Asia. Un percorso pensato per valorizzare il tema della tavola come luogo di incontro, relazione e scambio, dove forme, rituali, oggetti e tradizioni diventano occasione di confronto tra linguaggi progettuali diversi.

L’esposizione sarà anche un invito a riscoprire le collezioni custodite dal Museo d’Arte Orientale di Venezia: opere, manufatti e dettagli preziosi che incontrano il contemporaneo e ispirano nuove interpretazioni legate all’estetica orientale.

Con Geografie della Tavola, Venice Design Week rinnova il proprio impegno nel costruire progettualità contemporanee, portando il design dentro uno spazio carico di storia e bellezza.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Benjamin B. Böwing, a Munich-based designer and metalworker whose practice sits at the intersection of industrial manufacturing and high-end furniture.

Using laser cutting and CNC bending, Böwing transforms steel and aluminium into minimalist sculptural objects, precise in process, quietly poetic in presence.

Winner of Die gute Form (2019) and the SIT Award (2026), he launched his studio earlier this year and has already presented at IHM and Genova Design Week.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Rafael Luna, Director of the Infra-Architecture Lab and Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney.

Educated at MIT and the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, his research investigates inhabitable micro-architectures, interlocking plywood systems that become furniture, rooms, and pavilions.

Lightweight, reversible, low-carbon: interventions that reshape how we experience space without overwhelming it.

His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, and Melbourne Design Week.

VENICE DESIGN WEEK X AIPI

Un nuovo protocollo d'intesa unisce Venice Design Week e AIPI - Associazione Italiana Progettisti d'Interni, per portare in laguna un percorso di incontri e conferenze dedicato al progetto degli interni e al benessere abitativo.

Durante la settimana del design, progettisti e professionisti del settore si confronteranno sulla qualità del progetto, con uno sguardo alla percezione sensoriale dello spazio anche in dialogo con l'Università Iuav di Venezia.
