utions for the effective resilience of cultural heritage against damage caused by climatic changes using eco-innovative solutions (www.heracles-project.eu). The project will analyse three case studies of the European cultural heritage:
In Italy the medieval wall of the city of Gubbio that presents hydrogeological instability along with historical buildings that present ageing of masonry (diverse types of stone and binding mortars);
In Greece, the Palace of Knossos in Crete, UNESCO World Heritage, and the Venetian fortress of the Heraklion harbour, threatened by extreme climatic events and by the effect of sea level raising. The Consortium is constituted by 16 international partners, namely the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR, Italy), Fraunhofer Institute (Germany), Forth (Greece), University of Crete (Greece), Uninova (Portugal), Universita di Perugia (Italy), Leonardo (Italy), e-Geos SPA (Italy), Thales Group (France), CVR s.r.l. (Italy), Aria Technologies (France), Sistema Gmbh (Austria), EMRS (France), TIEMS (Belgium), Ephorate of Antiquities of Heraklion (Greece) e Comune di Gubbio (Italy).
