The ACCENT Rome Center is located in the beautiful Palazzo Banco S. Spirito on the Piazza dell'Orologio, which is marked by the impressive clock tower by Borromini and is considered the very heart of Rome. Among the historical palaces of Piazza dell'Orologio is the famous Casa delle Letterature or Biblioteca dell'Orologio, which is the home of literature in the "Eternal City." ACCENT's central location makes it an ideal base for classes and as a jumping-off point for onsite study visits.

Our University of California students visited ExtraLibera, the interactive exhibition by the Libera association that guides visitors through a powerful exploration of the mafia phenomenon.
They immersed themselves in the experience, discovering how everyday actions can help counter organized crime. Students connected with the stories of innocent victims and those who dedicated their lives to justice.
A moving moment came when they selected a name from the wall that displays a continuous flow of victims. Each student carried that name with them throughout the visit, symbolically taking responsibility for honoring that memory even after leaving ExtraLibera.

🍦 Gelato meets Marketing! 🇮🇹✨
Our UC students in Rome took their Made in Italy marketing class to a whole new level — tasting artisanal gelato from Gelateria I Mannari while exploring the art of branding, sensory marketing, and consumer experience.
Maestro Gelataio Giovanni Bassanelli guided students through the proper way to sniff and taste gelato, helping them discover the sensory differences between artisanal and industrial production. 🍨💬
Because when in Rome… you study marketing and savor the sweet side of culture! 💛

Last week was Local Week at the Accent Rome Center! 🇮🇹✨
For our UCEAPMI Fall students, that meant a week full of immersive activities and site visits around the Eternal City. One highlight? A deep dive into the Baroque world at Galleria Borghese.
Students in the Baroque art class experienced Bernini’s gravity-defying sculptures and Caravaggio’s intense, dramatic canvases — up close and personal. 🎨🔥 The iconic gallery is a bucket list MUST for tourists and students coming to Rome.

Last month, we took our UCEAPMI Fall semester students out of the city and into the beautiful countryside of Tivoli for their Welcome Excursion! 🌿✨
At the Agriresort La Cerra, students toured the grounds, learned about the business of sustainable farming, and discovered the importance of KM 0—locally grown, farm-to-table food.
They also got to mingle with new friends, taste freshly made in-house olive oil, and meet some adorable farm animals along the way! 🐐🍽️🌿
