Confprofessioni is active in the field of social dialogue in the sector of professions. The project will last two years, starting from March 2021. Ltd.
Currently, it is implementing the project Mutuus, co-financed by the European Union, focused on the extension of social protection to the professional self-employed. Social rights (which include the right to an adequate social protection also for the self-emplo
yed) are one of the priorities of the current Commission, that in its Communication “A strong social Europe for just transition” stressed the need to adjust social protection standards to the new realities of the world of work. The objectives pursued are:
• to extend social protection schemes delivered by social partners to cover the PSE;
• to enhance the role of social dialogue by developing a new approach;
• to use social dialogue as a tool to promote social rights, among which right to adequate social protection;
• ensure social protection coverage is adjusted to gender needs. Its activities include:
• preparation of a feasibility analysis;
• agreement on a joint opinion on the extension of social protection schemes by an ad-hoc committee;
• the organisation of national seminars on social protection for the PSE, in Italy, Belgium, Ireland and Malta, which will validate the joint opinion;
• the preparation of pacts on social protection for the PSE;
• the organisation of a European conference on social dialogue and social protection for the PSE;
• drafting a roadmap for the extension of social protection for the PSE, which will gather all previous results. The consortium is led by Confprofessioni, Italian Confederation of Liberal professions, and composed by the following entities: European Council of the Liberal Professions, from Belgium; Malta Federation of Professional Associations (MFPA); Equal Ireland Education Research and Related Services Co.
