Another wonderful early morning running tour with Olivia , all the way from Toronto! She chose to explore the city with the brand-new edition of the Hidden Rome Running Tour—our ‘Volume 2’.

This updated route is the result of careful research and field study to map out and include fresh corners of the hidden city. In just one hour and 15 minutes, we immersed ourselves in a unique side of Rome—filled with wonder, stunning beauty, and hidden archaeology that easily escapes the casual eye and reveals itself only to those who know where to look.

Seeing the awe in someone’s eyes as the city wakes up around you while you run is the ultimate reward. Olivia’s verdict? An enthusiastic ‘Amazing!’ that makes all the research so worthwhile.

A special father & son running tour set off from Hotel L'Orologio Roma with Austin Wendell and Paul, who traveled all the way from Texas to try a brand-new experience and explore the Eternal City on the run.

From iconic landmarks to lesser-known hidden gems revealed only by the early morning light, they were captivated by Rome’s history, beauty, and fascinating historical layers.

This morning I took Lauren, visiting from the USA, on a truly unique running tour. Her request? Starting from Piazza di Spagna to reach Rome’s most iconic squares, but taking only the smallest, narrowest, and quietest side streets in the city center—still completely empty in the early morning light.

Being able to bring my clients’ wishes to life and tailor every route to fit them perfectly is hands down one of the things I love most about my job.

Working like this is a constant inspiration, a feeling that is truly priceless. Another unforgettable morning through the alleys of the city! ✨🏛️

She contacted me after seeing my Instagram page: she fell in love with my experience and absolutely wanted to try it. She was looking for a special running tour, a route to admire the most iconic plazas as well as the hidden gems of the Eternal City.

In one of her messages, she wrote:

Reading words like these makes me truly happy.
Seeing the awe in her eyes as the city slowly woke up is the spark that drives me, every single day, to look for new perspectives, new streets, and new details to showcase all the infinite facets of Rome.

Sabina wanted a unique itinerary: combining the majesty of Rome’s most iconic squares with the magic of its hidden, secret spots. Say no more!

At 6:00 AM, with our running shoes laced up and the city still wrapped in an enchanted silence, we set off to take in the golden morning light and enjoy a Rome all to ourselves, perfectly quiet before the crowds arrived.

It was one of those mornings that fills your heart: a perfect mix of rich history, breathtaking beauty, light footsteps, and so many shared laughs.

A few weeks ago, I took a very special business trip. Those who know me well already know: I can never resist the call of places off the beaten tourist track—those capable of telling authentic, hidden, and surprising stories.
And it was right out of this trip that the inspiration for a new, incredible experience was born!

Exploring the Phlegraean Fields!

The term comes from the Greek phlegraios, which means “burning fields.” We’re not talking about a single volcano, but a vast, active, and fascinating volcanic area: a true supervolcano shaped by time, myth, and the phenomenon of bradyseism. It is a living land, steeped in ancient history, underworld legends, and breathtaking landscapes.

During this trip, I went to explore firsthand extraordinary spots that will be part of the new itinerary:
Liternum: The ancient Roman colony where Scipio Africanus chose to retire and be buried.
Cuma: The oldest Greek colony in the West, a place of myth and home to the legendary Cumaean Sibyl.
Pozzuoli: Home to the magnificent Flavian Amphitheater—the third largest Roman amphitheater in Italy after the Colosseum and the Amphitheater of Capua—and the unique charm of the Macellum (famously known as the Temple of Serapis).
Baia: Amidst the wonders of the Archaeological Park of the Baths of Baia and the majesty of its Aragonese Castle overlooking the sea.
Bacoli: Featuring the incredible underground water cathedral of Piscina Mirabilis, the fascinating and mysterious Cento Camerelle (known as the “Prisons of Nero”), and views that enchant at every glance...and so many other wonderful corners!
