DEEP Project

DEEP (DEferiprone Evaluation in Paediatrics) is a 4-year European Project (FP7) coordinated by Consorzio per Valutazioni Biologiche e Farmacologiche (CVBF)

The project aims to make deferiprone (the first oral iron chelator developed in Europe) available as first-line treatment in children of any age, affected by β-thalassaemia major and other transfusion dependent haemoglobinopathies, the more frequent anaemia in the world (especially in the Mediterranean).
