🌊🚄 ICE reaches the Belgian coast! 🇩🇪🇧🇪

For the first time, passengers can travel directly from Köln to Oostende thanks to a new seasonal ICE service launched by Deutsche Bahn and SNCB.

Operating with Germany's latest ICE 3neo trains, the new route connects:

🇩🇪 Aachen
🇧🇪 Liège-Guillemins
🇧🇪 Leuven
🇧🇪 Brussels
🇧🇪 Gent-Sint-Pieters
🇧🇪 Brugge
🇧🇪 Oostende

To mark the occasion, Deutsche Bahn officially named an ICE 3neo train "Köln" during a ceremony at Köln Hbf before it departed on its inaugural journey to the Belgian seaside.

📈 Demand for international rail travel continues to grow, with passenger numbers on Germany–Belgium ICE services increasing by around 18% since 2019.

🗓️ The seasonal service operates on weekends during the summer holiday period, offering a fast, comfortable and sustainable way to reach Belgium's North Sea coast without changing trains.

The new Oostende service is also part of a wider expansion of rail links between Germany and Belgium, with a new direct Köln–Antwerpen route via Brussels Airport set to launch later this year.
